As teams dwindle down and the state playoffs move on to yet another round, prospects across Florida are starting to showcase skills that were hidden during much of this pandemic.
As many football teams around the state – have their collective eyes on Tallahassee – the site of this year’s state championships in early December, this past weekend brought the best out in so many players, who came up with plays that helped their teams move on to the next level.

Senior quarterback<strong> Brody Palheygi </strong>led Cardinal Gibbons to a convincing 4A win against Miami Gulliver Prep, 29-7.
Junior defensive back <strong>Earl Little Jr</strong>. came up with a crucial interception in the closing minutes to lead Plantation American Heritage to a 12-3 win over three-time defending state champion Miami Northwestern.
Delray American Heritage QB <strong>Dylan Rizk</strong> had 480 yards passing, 6 total TDs in a win over Lemon Bay.
<strong>Jadon Canady</strong> caught a 15-yard pass from <strong>Chris Calhoun</strong> in the right corner to lead Jacksonville Sandalwood to a 28-19 win over Flagler Palm Coast.
<strong>Sam Singleton</strong> scored the go-ahead touchdown - and <strong>TK Kocak</strong> rushed for one touchdown and threw a scoring pass to <strong>Darion Domineck</strong> as Fleming Island beat Tallahassee Chiles, 23-7.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="32818" first="Dequan" last="Stanley"]</strong> intercepted a pass and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown and <strong>Sammy Edwards</strong> threw for two touchdowns and ran for another two touchdowns as St. Augustine knocked off last year state 6A runner up Escambia Gators, 48-27.
<strong>Tony Fulton, Marcus Peterson, Jaquez Redic</strong> and <strong>Kade Jackson</strong> led the way in Lake City Columbia’s 28-14 win over Daytona Beach Seabreeze.
<strong>Pate Garrett’s</strong> game-winning field goal gave Pace a 23-21 upset win over Jacksonville Lee. The Generals had a <strong>Cale Zarah </strong>to <strong>Dayon Rawls</strong> scoring pass.
Jacksonville Ribault’s <strong>Martranius Mack, Vincent Bailey </strong>and <strong>Santana Jackson</strong> all had a hand in a thrilling 42-34 three overtime win over Tallahassee Godby.
<strong>Detayvious Grandison</strong> touchdown and <strong>Dakota Weaver</strong> extra point capped a 97-yard game-winning drive in the last three and a half minutes to lead Pensacola Pine Forest to a 21-20 win over Live Oak Suwannee. <strong>Keishawn Qualls</strong> had five catches for 108 yards.
Two touchdowns from county rushing leader <strong>Al’Querious Ray</strong> and a <strong>Jarvis Lee</strong> punt return for a touchdown as Clay (9-1), beat Port Orange Atlantic.
<strong>Mykel Randall</strong> scored early and Ocala Vanguard (7-1) pulled away to end the playoff run for Orange Park Ridgeview, 35-0.
<strong>Gunner Boree</strong> passed for three touchdowns and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="50210" first="Kade" last="Frew"]</strong> also rushed for a pair of scores in Jacksonville Bolles’ 35-7 win against Fernandina Beach.
<strong>Treyaun Webb, [player_tooltip player_id="32639" first="Marcus" last="Burke"], Fred Highsmith, Ja’Cory Jordan </strong>and <strong>Darnell Rogers</strong> gave 9-1 Jacksonville Trinity Christian a 35-0 win against Jacksonville Episcopal.
<strong>Orel Gray</strong> scored a pair of touchdowns and <strong>Desirrio Riles</strong> ran for one touchdown and passed to <strong>Ja’Won Grey</strong> for a second as Jacksonville University Christian rolled over Tallahassee Pope John Paul II.
Powered by four touchdowns from <strong>Manny Covey, </strong>three rushing and one receiving, Union County blew past Fort White. Quarterback<strong> A.J. Cortese</strong> added a touchdown.
<strong>Arthur Walker</strong> rushed for 102 yards on 23 attempts and had a 10 yard touchdown run, while <strong>Pat Bryant</strong> added 98 yards receiving on three receptions as Jacksonville Atlantic Coast upended Tallahassee Lincoln.
<strong>Nate Mikell</strong> scored on a 15-yard touchdown run and <strong>Nate Rembert</strong> found <strong>Joseph Poyser</strong> for a TD as Wildwood beat Newberry.
<strong>Ezra Brennan</strong> broke his own school record with 339 yards passing, adding 3 TD passes as undefeated Mitchell became the first team in school history to advance two rounds in a win over Orlando East River.
Junior safety <strong>Wade Woodaz</strong> forced a fumble that senior linebacker <strong>Todd Bowles Jr</strong>. recovered and sparked unbeaten Tampa Jesuit to a win over Tampa Chamberlain.
Jacksonville Bolles junior RB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="50210" first="Kade" last="Frew"]</strong> ran for 211 yards and 2 TDs in a playoff win.
Lake Butler Union County junior OLB <strong>Curan Webb</strong> had 3 solo tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks in a win over Fort White.
Lake Minneola’s <strong>Ralph Ortiz</strong> intercepted a pass and returned 60 yards for a touchdown in a win over Boca Ciega.
