North Fort Myers: A Surprise Team So Far
Before the season began, there were a number of programs in southwest Florida that many had a good feeling about.
As several of the usual playoff-bound programs came out of the pandemic as teams to keep an eye on, one team in northern Lee County has certainly made the most of every opportunity.
With so many impressive prospects in its rich history, North Fort Myers has certainly lit that fire to rekindle some of the past successes – with head coach Dwyane Mack and his staff helping to put the Red Knights among the elite in the state of Florida.
With football fans hoping that this much improved program would make the playoffs and have a good draw, now some are thinking state championship game, and that has many across the Sunshine State watching very closely.
In getting to 7-0 this year, this program has combined solid offense with a stingy defense.
A big win against longtime rival Fort Myers (33-17) set the tone for the season. That win was followed by East Lee (48-0), Ida Baker (28-0), Cape Coral (64-0), Dunbar (17-0), South Fort Myers (25-7) and Cape Coral Island Coast (48-7)..
