The #8 2021 prospect in California and the #1 TE in Prep Redzone’s rankings collected 22 offers before finally committing to Georgia in August. He’s an elite level receiving tight end with great athleticism and speed for his size. Displays excellent body control and ability to adjust/track the ball in the air. He’s a savvy and creative route runner that is able to beat both man and zone coverage. Good after the catch ability, very difficult to bring down with the ball in his hands using his combination of size, speed, and strength. Excels as a pass catching TE but good ability and technique as a blocker in the run game. One of the top tight ends in the national with a very attractive skill set to Power 5 programs.
<strong>2. [player_tooltip player_id="25035" first="Jermaine" last="Terry"], Kennedy-Richmond HS, 2021, 6’4” 245 lbs. </strong>
The size, frame, and versatility college coaches are looking for in a TE prospect. Shows great ability as a pass catcher and has continuously improved his technique as an inline blocker. Presents a mismatch no matter who is covering him. Possesses good speed for his size but uses his strength, athleticism, and leverage to consistently create separation and beat defenders. Terry has great hands with a large catch radius making him an easy receiving target. Leaping ability, body control, and timing also contribute to his great ability to bring in 50/50 balls. Offered by elite programs from every Power 5 conference but committed to staying local to play at Cal-Berkeley.
<strong>3. [player_tooltip player_id="25259" first="Brodie" last="Tagaloa"], De La Salle HS, 2022, 6’4” 260 lbs.</strong>
2019 was his first year playing high school football but he immediately flashed his potential and upside. He possesses great genes and bloodlines with his older brother, Boss Tagaloa, being a top 300 recruit in 2016 and playing at UCLA and brother, Breaux, currently at San Jose State. Good athlete at 6’4” 260 lbs. that moves well and shows good body control and speed for his size. He’s a strong and physical blocker that is violent and powerful at the POA. Displays good natural hands and body control through the catch. He’s an intriguing prospect for colleges that is just scratching the surface of his potential and has the ability to play either side of the ball depending on his growth. Oregon, ASU, Cal, Nebraska, Oregon State, and San Jose State have all already offered.
<strong> 4. </strong><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="25140" first="JP" last="Murphy"], San Ramon Valley, 2021, 6’4” 240 lbs.</strong>
The San Diego State commit is a versatile pass catching tight end with the ability to play with his hand in the dirt or as a split end. A good athlete with ideal size and length for a Power 5 TE. With his large catch radius and exceptional hands/catching ability he resembles a young Mark Andrews. He’s able to bring in highly contested balls in traffic and 50/50 balls at an extremely high rate. Not a burner in regards to speed but has functional speed after the catch and can pick up large chunks of yards with the ball in his hands using his strength and athleticism to fight off would be tacklers and get north/south. Prior to committing to SDSU he had nine offers including USC, UNLV, ASU, San Jose State, New Mexico, FAU, and UC Davis.
