For those four, that means a trip to the UNI-Dome and one step closer to bringing home a state title.
West Lyon heads to Central Lyon/George-Little Rock for one quarterfinal, with Monroe-PCM on the road at West Marshall in another. West Liberty tackles Camanche and Solon meets Waukon to round out the field.
Here’s a look at a key player from each team:
West Lyon at Central Lyon/George-Little Rock
Jackson Kramer, West Lyon (2021)
Just a few short weeks ago, Central Lyon/George-Little Rock bested West Lyon, 20-16, for the district title. Now, West Lyon gets its shot at revenge in an even bigger moment.
The Wildcats are very balanced, but one stat sticks out: four interceptions by Jackson Kramer. The senior has the skills to really change the outcome of this game by eliminating the passing attack of Central Lyon/George-Little Rock.
Zach Lutmer, Central Lyon/George-Little Rock (2023)
You can bet Zach Lutmer will know where Jackson Kramer is on every play, as the Central Lyon/George-Little Rock quarterback has been strong with the football. Lutmer has just three interceptions on 86 attempts, throwing for 912 yards and seven touchdowns.
What he doesn’t get in the air, he gets on the ground, running for a team-high 1,077 yards and 18 scores. The sophomore is another prospect to watch over the next few years as he continues to grow into his role.
Monroe-PCM at West Marshall
Gatlin Boell, Monroe-PCM (2021)
When you scout Monroe-PCM, so any players stick out as game-changers. One, though, stands a little above the rest in wide receiver Gatlin Boell. The senior leads the team with 25 receptions for 536 yards and seven scores.
Boell, who checks in at 6-foot-2, presents a big, strong target for quarterback August Stock. He averages over 21 yards per reception and has excellent hands with an ability to high-point the ball and bring it down.
On defense, Boell is not to be tested with three interceptions and two pick-6 scores on the year. He has also recovered a pair of fumbles.
Preston Pope, West Marshall (2022)
This is a very youth-dominated team at West Marshall, as junior Preston Pope anchors the offense with over 1,700 yards and 23 touchdowns on the ground.
Pope is all speed all the time, averaging eight yards per rush. He brings the type of big-play ability needed at this point of the year to change a game, as he also shines on defense with a pair of sacks and a pick-6.
West Liberty at Camanche
Jahsiah Galvan, West Liberty (2022)
Jahsiah Galvan gives West Liberty his all every single week, and it shows in the box scores. Galvan has rushed for 1,556 yards with 12 touchdowns, averaging nearly nine yards per carry.
He also has six receptions for 47 yards and a score, 47.5 tackles, three interceptions and averages nearly 13 yards per punt return. At 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, Galvan is a nice combination of speed and size to get the job done.
Jordan Lawrence, Camanche (2021)
Just because Camanche won 20-0 back in September, the Indians know they are in for a fight. Senior Jordan Lawrence brings experience and success to the field, having set numerous school records.
Lawrence has transitioned into one of the top wide receivers in the state, catching 60 passes for 791 yards and 12 TDs this year. Camanche also gets him in the ball other ways as evident by his 15 carries for nearly 100 yards with a score.
Solon at Waukon
Blake Timmons, Solon (2023)
The Class of 2023 is really shaping up to be an exciting one at the quarterback position, as numerous players have already stepped on the field and found success. Solon’s Blake Timmons is one of those having racked up over 1,600 yards and 22 TDs on the year.
Timmons has great patience and composure in the pocket, waiting for his receivers to get open. He averages over 18 yards per completion and nearly six yards per rush.

Welch is great at avoiding the mistake, throwing just one interception on his 104 attempts. He averages nearly 17 yards per completion and 10.6 yards per rush.
