Friday night games were filled with electrifying play as most players are at their peak performance during this time of year and teams are ramping up play as the playoffs approach.

6’2 Dual-threat Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="121945" first="Ashton" last="DuBose"] is only a sophomore but you couldn’t tell it by his calm cool demeanor as he trampled over Taft High School Running for 143 yards, 9 carries, and oh yeah by the way passed for an additional 159 yards. Accounting for 302 yards, leading the Brennan bears to a victory with a well-matched opponent in Taft, overpowering them 52-13.

Brother of [player_tooltip player_id="121945" first="Ashton" last="DuBose"], a 6’3 lengthy receiver with good hand-eye coordination. These two usually put on a pretty good show. Look for more on these two in years to come as both brothers are only sophomores and have a ton of potential. Aaron can put up some yards and points in a game with his break-away speed. Look for more coverage on these two later to come.
Cole Andrus - QB, Jourdanton High School
Jourdanton’s senior quarterback Cole Andrus put on a clinic Friday night for the Indians against Comfort, throwing for 446 yards and completing 15 of 21 passes. This QB looks strong in the pocket and makes everything look easy. Leading his team to a 3A, Division I first-round playoff win for the Indians.
Blair Blunt - RB, Johnson High School
This senior running back was rumbling, he was tumbling, all over the Madison Highschool Mavericks football team. Leading the Jaguars in rushing with 107 yards and 20 carries. I’d hate to line up and try to tackle this guy, might end up like the iconic Josh Norman, Derrick Henry meme.
Ishaun Myles - DE, Steele High School
This senior defensive end is 5’11 but don’t let that fool you. He plays way bigger than that. This is a pass rusher that shoots out of his stance and fires off like a cannonball. He uses his leverage to his advantage, especially during this past week’s game against South San Antonio High school. Racking up 6 total tackles and one-half sack. This defensive end wrecks havoc in the offensive backfields, opponents be warned, this kid can play.
Look forward to next week’s standout performers, player analysis, stats, and more.
