1. Xavier Worthy Xavier Worthy 6'1" | 165 lbs | WR Central East | 2021 State CA , Central, 2021, 6’1” 160 lbs.
The Michigan commit is one of the top ranked receivers on the west coast with elite level speed and athleticism. Ran a 10.55 100m as a sophomore. He’s an explosive playmaker both as a deep threat or his ability to take short passes and turn them into long gains. He’s able to quickly manipulate DB’s with a great release and burst off the LOS forcing them to transition out of the backpedal and change directions while he flies by. He’s a strong route runner that is clean in and out of his breaks coming out with speed and acceleration to create separation. Displays elite level body control and ability to adjust with confident/reliable hands. Recruiting exploded this off season picking up 21 offers from many of the top programs in the country before committing to Michigan in July.
Offers: Michigan (Committed), Alabama, ASU, Auburn, Fresno State, Georgia, LSU, Hawaii, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oregon, Oregon St., Penn St., SJSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UNLV, USC, Utah, Washington, Washington St.
2. Velltray Jefferson Velltray Jefferson 6'4" | 225 lbs | TE Edison (Fresno) | 2021 State CA , Edison, 2021, 6’4” 230 lbs.
Elite level size, frame, and length for multiple positions at the college level. Recently committed to Utah after being named the overall MVP of the National Preps Collegiate Showcase in Fresno. He possesses a great combination of size and athleticism displaying impressive body control, lateral mobility, and change of direction at 6’4” 230 lbs. He’s an easy target to throw to with his plus ball skills, natural catching ability, and an extremely large catch radius. A physical force on both sides of the ball but presents as a matchup nightmare lining up as a WR using that physicality and size to his advantage. Has a great ability to box out defenders to make a play on the ball. It will be interesting to see how the Utes use him in their system but he’s an undeniable game breaker no matter where he lines up.
Offers: Utah (Committed), USC, Arizona , ASU, Colorado, Fresno St., Liberty, Nevada, New Mexico, NAU, SJSU, Tennessee, Washington, Washington St.
3. Assani Berkeley, Mission College Prep, 2021, 6’1” 185 lbs.
Berkeley is a dynamic natural athlete with great raw potential and upside. Colleges jumped on him quickly in the spring when he picked up five D1 offers before committing to San Jose State over UNLV, Sacramento State, UC Davis, and Cal Poly. He’s a smooth athlete on the basketball court that transitions well to the football field. He does his damage as a vertical threat and with the ball in his hands after the catch. He’s a long strider with good burst, open field speed, and vision in traffic. Possesses strong hands and good ball location skills. Still developing as a route runner but has great tools to build on. The potential, talent, and ability are all there to be a quality player in the SJSU program.
Offers: SJSU (Committed), UNLV, Sac St., UC Davis, Cal Poly
4. Zion Hall, Garces Memorial, 2021, 5’7” 160 lbs.
The Cal Poly commit has a well-rounded skillset with his natural talent mixed with his strong technique/fundamentals. He is a great athlete with plus speed, change of direction, and burst. He’s a savvy route that can create separation and manipulate DB’s in a variety of ways. He’s precise and sharp in/out of his breaks and his acceleration out of his cuts allow him to run away from defenders. College’s will love his ability to sell a route before sticking his toe in the ground, dropping his hips, and changing directions before locating the football. After the catch he is difficult to catch or tackle in space using his speed, elusiveness, and quick lateral agility to weave his way around defenders. He’s sure handed and shows a good ability to adjust quickly to bring in off target or in traffic passes. Committed to Cal Poly over offers from Nevada, San Diego, Bethel, and Pacific.
Offers: Cal Poly (Committed), Nevada, San Diego, Bethel, Pacific
5. Nate Johnson, Clovis, 2022, 6’1” 185 lbs.
Johnson could’ve easily made the list at several positions including QB, WR, or RB with his talent and athleticism but had a strong showing as a sophomore WR in 2019. He’s a natural football player with plus top end speed, quickness, and acceleration. He’s explosive with the ball in his hands with his elusiveness after the catch and ability to cut on a dime without sacrificing any speed. He shows reliable hands both in the open field and in traffic. Still developing as a route runner but is able to be creative in how he gains separation. Might transition to a more prominent role as a QB going forward but his ability as a pass catcher is undeniable. Currently holds two PAC12 offers from Arizona and Utah.
Offers: Utah, Arizona
