ROCK HILL, S.C. - A.C. Flora and South Pointe came into Friday’s second round playoff game looking to advance to next week’s Upper State championship game. And it was the A.C. Flora rushing attack which helped the Falcons dominate South Pointe in a 41-14 win.
A.C. Flora will host Catawba Ridge next Friday night with a berth in the 4A state championship game on the line which will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Benedict College in Columbia, S.C.
Let’s get into the offensive standouts from Friday night’s second round playoff action:
South Pointe
2021 QB/WR Omega Blake - The South Carolina commit made his presence known on the first play of the game as he beat the one-on-one coverage for a long 79-yard touchdown catch and run to put the Stallions up early. He looked smooth in his route running and knew where to find the grass to get the first down.
South Carolina coach Will Muschamp was let go on Sunday and we asked him if that would have an impact on his decision: “I’m still in contact with (wide receivers) coach Joe (Cox) and (interim head) coach (Mike) Bobo and I just got to see what happens from here on out. I got to do what’s best for me and my family.”
2022 QB Zay McCrorey - The offensive staff for the Stallions decided to go with the junior quarterback against the Falcons, something we haven’t seen in the other two games PRZ SC has covered them. He gave them a spark with the touchdown throw in the first quarter and we noticed he made a throw in the third quarter against the blitz and stepped into it.
2021 RB Nygel Moore -- The senior for the Stallions ended his high school career with a solid night as he ran hard inside the tackles and punched it into the end zone once.
A.C. Flora’s run game trio
2021 RB [player_tooltip player_id="59346" first="Matthew" last="Pack Jr."] (5’8, 185 lbs.), 2021 RB Terrell Coleman (5’8, 170 lbs.) and 2023 RB Markel Townsend (5’7, 160 lbs.)
The decision to choose between the three running backs for this article was tough so we picked them all. A.C. Flora’s plan coming into the game was to run the ball and each of them looked powerful in running the ball as the offensive line opened up gaping holes throughout the night.
Highlights included:

[player_tooltip player_id="59346" first="Matthew" last="Pack Jr."] had an electrifying 67-yard touchdown run on the direct snap out of the wildcat on Flora’s first drive of the 2nd half.

Markel Townsend would not go down on the first tackle as he spun through tackles and ran with a purpose.

Terrell Coleman had a huge run on third down and was patient on this particular run letting his blocks set up.
