In one of the higher-scoring games of Week 3, Weequahic used an 18-0 second quarter and fought off Cedar Grove, 44-34, this past Saturday.
Weequahic improved to 3-0 on the year while Cedar Grove dropped to 2-1. Let’s take a look at the winners from the exciting contest.
<strong>Jeron Phillips, Weequahic: </strong>Phillips finished 17-of-30 for 272 yards and two touchdowns at quarterback for Weequahic. He connected with [player_tooltip player_id="27913" first="Donovan" last="Wadley"] and Quaphit Davis on his TD strikes.
<strong>Tauheed Mclean, Weequahic: </strong>Mclean ran for 114 yards on seven carries with TD runs of 3 and 81 yards.
<strong>Dylan Wadley, Weequahic: </strong>Wadley caught seven balls for 161 yards and had a 27-yard TD reception, and he scored on a 3-yard run. Wadley also made a huge play with a 40-yard fumble return for a score.
<strong>Keoni Montgomery, Weequahic: </strong>Montgomery made a tremendous play on special teams with a 51-yard kickoff return for a score. He also had an interception in the game.
<strong>Weequahic Defense: </strong>Jordan Augustin and Omar Hunt had sacks, and Weequahic capitalized on some key turnovers. Montgomery, Maxwell Counts, Benjamin Semador and Ihsim Smith-Marsette all had interceptions for the Indians.
<strong>Anthony Bilotta, Cedar Grove: </strong>Bilotta finished with seven receptions for 173 yards and caught TD passes of 27 and 54 yards.
<strong>Tyler Rummel, Cedar Grove: </strong>Rummel finished with 13 carries for 65 yards and he scored on a 1-yard run. He also made four receptions for 61 yards and caught a 41-yard TD pass from quarterback Dario Bryant.
<strong>Michael Marinelli, Cedar Grove: </strong>Marinelli made two interceptions for Cedar Grove on defense.
