Winners From Oct. 23 Games

Friday night brought some more intense action in Week 4. Let’s take a look at some of the winners from the evening. <strong>Chris Brutofsky, Wayne Hills: </strong>Brutofsky totaled 93 yards on 12 carries with TD runs of 3 and 58 yards as Wayne Hills stayed perfect at 4-0 and eased past Old Bridge, 35-8, Friday night. Quarterback Noah Abida threw three touchdowns and Dean Imparato had an 80-yard TD catch. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="28054" first="Patrick" last="LePoidevin"], Bound Brook: </strong>LePoidevin threw two touchdowns and ran for two more in Bound Brook’s 28-22 victory over Belvidere Friday night, improving to 3-1 on the season. <strong>Kyle Madden, Hightstown: </strong>Madden had an interception return for a score and also caught a TD throw as Hightstown edged Ewing, 31-25, Friday night. <strong>Ty Scherer, Glen Rock: </strong>Scherer had a solid performance in Glen Rock’s 28-6 victory over Hawthorne Friday night, as the team improved to 3-1. Scherer threw a 35-yard TD strike to Mike McCarthy, he ran for TDs of 7 and 11 yards and he had two interceptions on the defensive end. He threw for 140 yards and ran for 47. <strong>Jacob Smith, Parsippany Hills: </strong>Smith had a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown as Parsippany Hills rallied from a 14-0 deficit and improved to 4-0 by defeating River Dell, 28-21, Friday night. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27875" first="Jordan" last="Thompson"], Parsippany Hills: </strong>Thompson, a Rutgers commit, made five receptions for 87 yards and hauled in a 9-yard TD throw from Chris Evans in the Vikings’ win over River Dell. <strong>Dan Merkel, Allentown: </strong>Merkel threw for over 200 yards and ran for two touchdowns as Allentown defeated Lawrence, 28-14, Friday night. He found the end zone from 43 yards out on one of his TD runs. Other notable players for Allentown included Daniel Cruz, with 100 yards on the ground a pair of TD runs, and Jake Raff, who made nine receptions for 154 yards. <strong>Sabrino Portella, Red Bank Catholic: </strong>Portella ran for three scores in Red Bank Catholic’s 35-20 victory over Middletown North Friday night. That included a 48-yard TD run. <strong>Jake Schneider, Ocean City: </strong>Schneider helped Ocean City to a 4-0 start following the team’s 36-16 win over Millville Friday night. He became the first player in school history to record 100 catches in a career. He finished with five catches for 144 yards, which gave him 101 catches in his career. Schneider also had a 54-yard interception return for a score. <strong>Brandon Boria, Cherokee: </strong>Boria’s 9-yard touchdown run in the late stages led 4-0 Cherokee past upset-minded Shawnee, 24-21, Friday night. <strong>Nick Arcaroli, Cherry Hill West: </strong>Arcaroli accounted for five touchdowns as Cherry Hill West improved to 4-0 in a 49-6 blowout win over Camden Catholic on Friday. He threw three touchdown passes and was extremely efficient, only missing three of his 16 throws. He ran for two scores. <strong>Yah-Sin Calhoun, Freehold Borough:</strong> Calhoun caught a 64-yard TD pass and ran for a 36-yard score in Freehold Borough’s 38-13 victory over Howell Friday night, improving to 3-1. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27991" first="Alex" last="Benitez"], Montgomery: </strong>Benitez tossed two TDs, ran for one more and made a field goal as Montgomery rolled to a 37-20 victory over Hunterdon Central. <strong>Robert McCullough, Newton: </strong>McCullough booted a 22-yard field goal as time expired in Newton’s 10-7 victory over Lenape Valley to improve to 2-0. <strong>Gage Miller, Burlington Township: </strong>Miller threw for 227 yards and four touchdowns as Burlington Township (4-0) dominated all night in its 42-6 victory over Northern Burlington. <strong>Joe Barsky, Colts Neck: </strong>Barsky had a night to remember in Colts Neck’s 42-7 win over Freehold Township, improving to 4-0. Barsky ran for 171 yards on 14 carries, scoring an astounding five TDs – on runs of 2, 4, 36, 37 and 45 yards. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27920" first="Ali" last="Lee Jr."], Woodbridge: </strong>Lee was a game-changer Friday night as Woodbridge stayed perfect on the year and survived a stiff test from Cranford in a 27-14 victory. In a battle of undefeated teams, Lee ran for 205 yards on 33 carries and scored on a 21-yard run.
