We have an interesting player matchup Friday night, October 23rd between Central Catholic’s senior wide receiver <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27390" first="Eric" last="Benson Jr"] </strong>and Baldwin’s senior cornerback <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27353" first="CJ" last="Robbins"]</strong>. They both have good size with Eric being the bigger guy at 6 foot 2 215 pounds and CJ 6 foot 175 pounds. Eric shows to improve quite a bit from his junior year. He got better with his release and shows some burst off the line of scrimmage. He is a good route runner, shows to drop his hips. He also has good ball skills. Eric still lacks quickness and speed. With CJ on the other side, he lacks quickness but has decent speed. With Eric going vertical, expect CJ to have the edge who shows to be faster. CJ looks stiff and doesn’t sink hips with receivers. He also has average ball skills. They both are physical guys expect them to be handsy when CJ is in press but would not surprising if they are all over each other all game. Both these players are most likely D2 athletes, that should make for a good matchup.
