One of the most dominant seasons among all of Georgia High School Football teams so far during this 2020 season belongs to Parkview High School. As a historically talented program, it should never come as a surprise when Parkview plays up to expectations. Up to this point of the season, the Panthers are 5-1. Each of the team’s win’s has seen Parkview score more than 30 points. This season, they have defeated teams such as Mountain View, Loganville, Marietta, Tucker, and Newton. The only loss that the Panther’s have sustained this season has been against North Gwinnett High School. As the team prepares for it’s 7th game of the season this Friday, they are hoping to out play Grayson High, in the most important match up of their season. If they can manage to pull of a win against them, it will be a positive sign of what is to come for them in the playoffs this post season.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Panther’s have seen a ton of success. The only game in which the team did not score 30 points was in their loss against North Gwinnett, in which the final score was 21-0. Other than that, the team has been on fire, as they have put up plenty of TD’s this season. Specifically, QB, [player_tooltip player_id="34066" first="Colin" last="Houck"] has had a large amount of success, as he has thrown for 972 total yards, and 12 TD’s. With this, he has only thrown 2 interceptions. As one could expect, the ground game has also been very successful for Parkview, as RB, [player_tooltip player_id="33667" first="Cody" last="Brown"] has led the team with 757 yards, with 7 TD’s total. [player_tooltip player_id="33854" first="Tyler" last="Curtis"] has also been an effective runner of the football, with over 520 yards on the ground for 8 TD’s. The receivers for the Panthers have also seen a large amount of success as well, as [player_tooltip player_id="33840" first="Jared" last="Brown"], Zion Taylor, and Dylan Speakman have all had strong seasons.
Along with the offense, the Panther’s defense has also had its’ fair share of success. While plenty of defensive play makers have recorded tackles for the team this season, notable players such as [player_tooltip player_id="33743" first="Quincy" last="Bryant"], Nick Harden, Brian Day, Kwesi Tillman, and Torren Coppage have all recorded 20 tackles or more. Along with this, multiple players on the defensive side of the ball have also recorded sacks. This includes players such as David Patterson, Caleb Grant, Kwesi Tillman, Jasir Smith, and many more. Out of the entire team, Tillman leads the unit with 5.5 sacks. As the success of the defense has been evident, it will need to show out in the best way possible against Grayson this upcoming Friday if the team wants any chance of winning the game. If the team can do this, the match up will be one of the top games of the year.
