Getting off to a solid start or an amazing one is what this year has been about. For those who are playing for a state title, it was essential to start off hot and remain that way.
While it is never easy to maintain a high level of play throughout the entire season, several have set the bar with impressive performances – setting the tone for the season.
Today, we have five athletes who have made it count in 2020:
2021 – Chris Davis, DE/OLB, Seffner Armwood. When you think about this quality team, talent and defense come to mind – and this gifted football player, who has been around the game a long time, broke out of the gate for this powerhouse, collecting 9 sacks in just four game – to become one of the top pass rushers early on in Florida.

2023 - Allan Ho, FS, Brooksville Nature Coast Tech. Once again, this impressive program is churning out talent and putting themselves in a position for the playoffs in 2020 – and it’s certainly the play of prospects like this, who happened to have 6 picks and several key plays to start the season off. It’s play like this that has helped to elevate this team.

2021 - Tyson McClendon, S, Baldwin. Whether it’s linebacker or safety, this is the kind of football player you want on your side. Super athletic and technique-rich, this was your early leader in quarterback sacks with 10. One of the top prospects that more college coaches need to be watching.

Courtland Mitchell, LB, Seminole Osceola. Easily one of the top defensive playmakers so far this season, here is a linebacker who put up numbers while his team was maturing. His 50 tackles – 70 total – put him in a position that very few reached in the first month of the season. If he maintains this pace, watch out record book.

Keymari Odum WR/CB, Davenport Ridge Community. Talk about a playmaker. How about 13 touchdown and 829 yards in the first four games for the Bolts! This is a top-flight pass- catcher who has speed, skill and plenty of athletic ability. If he maintains this pace, a lot of local records are going to fall.
