Welcome back! We had another huge week of performances between my team, and Oliver West’s team. This was a big week for the matchup as Oliver was looking to even the series at two wins apiece, and I was looking to get back to the two game lead that I lost last week. Before I was able to crunch the numbers we did have to do some slight roster adjustments. Unfortunately, Oliver West had to replace star RB/LB [player_tooltip player_id="30818" first="Will" last="Straka"] after the news came out that Mineral Point was going to have to cancel the remainder of their season. He decided to replace him with the dominant RB/DB, [player_tooltip player_id="31196" first="Grover" last="Bortolotti"] from Whitefish Bay. Now that the season is past the halfway point I hope that we won’t have this sort of issue again and we can finish the season off strong. Let’s get into this week’s results! <table style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%; height: 231px;"> <tbody> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>Mark’s Team</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>Score</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>Oliver’s Team</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>Score</strong></td> </tr> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>QB: [player_tooltip player_id="30837" first="Adam" last="Moen"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">39.9</td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>QB: [player_tooltip player_id="30852" first="Riley" last="Christensen"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">36.8</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>RB: [player_tooltip player_id="30812" first="Zach" last="Wallace"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">37.6</td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>RB: [player_tooltip player_id="30914" first="Tate" last="Sauerwein"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">36</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>RB: [player_tooltip player_id="31227" first="Obacoso" last="Allen"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">40.4</td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>RB: [player_tooltip player_id="31267" first="Cooper" last="Nichols"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">29.7</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>WR: [player_tooltip player_id="30746" first="Jack" last="Martens"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">25</td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>WR: [player_tooltip player_id="30745" first="Matteo" last="Bonnin"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">14.2</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>WR: [player_tooltip player_id="30856" first="Cyle" last="Kowalski"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">16.2</td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>WR: [player_tooltip player_id="30827" first="Sylvere" last="Campbell"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">9.2</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>TE: [player_tooltip player_id="30849" first="Quinn" last="Taege"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">21.9</td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>TE: [player_tooltip player_id="30730" first="Garrett" last="Gillette"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">9.8</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>FLEX: [player_tooltip player_id="30868" first="Tanner" last="Marsh"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">24.2</td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>FLEX: [player_tooltip player_id="31196" first="Grover" last="Bortolotti"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">25.7</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>Muskego Defense</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">13</td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>Brookfield Cent. Defense</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">2</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>Kicker: [player_tooltip player_id="30976" first="Jackson" last="Pettit"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">7</td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>Kicker: [player_tooltip player_id="30963" first="Tyler" last="Bittman"]</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">5</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>Final Score</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">225.2</td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><strong>Final Score</strong></td> <td style="width: 25%; text-align: center; height: 21px;">168.4</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> As you can see, my team was able to get the 56.8 point victory over Oliver’s team and move to 3-1 on the year. It was an impressive performance by my team this week. In the head to head matchups we went 8-1, losing only in the flex slot. The biggest performances for both teams came from the QB and RB positions. In a standard scoring league you have to expect that, but the numbers this week are pretty wild. For my team, [player_tooltip player_id="30837" first="Adam" last="Moen"] threw and ran his way to 39.9 points thanks to his 218 passing yards, 3 passing TDs, 14 rushing yards, and 3 rushing TDs. For Oliver’s team, [player_tooltip player_id="30852" first="Riley" last="Christensen"] really put on a show with his legs on his way to putting up 36.8 points and 58 passing yards, 107 rushing yards, and 4 rushing TDs. My team continues to hold strong at the RB position as they put up over 100 points between the three of them. [player_tooltip player_id="30812" first="Zach" last="Wallace"] continues to be a beast for Burlington as he posted 257 rushing yards, and 5 TDs. [player_tooltip player_id="31227" first="Obacoso" last="Allen"] makes his first appearance in the starting lineup on the back of the best performance of the week. He did it on the ground and through the air as he went for 164 rushing yards, 3 rushing yards, and 1 receiving TD. [player_tooltip player_id="30868" first="Tanner" last="Marsh"] was my third star RB this week as he came through with 106 rushing yards, 2 rushing TDs, and 41 passing yards. Oliver’s RBs did a great job of keeping it close as his three RBs combined for over 90 points this week. [player_tooltip player_id="30914" first="Tate" last="Sauerwein"] continues to be a huge piece for Oliver’s team after he posted 19 receiving yards, 149 rushing yards, and 3 rushing TDs. [player_tooltip player_id="31267" first="Cooper" last="Nichols"] has been another must start for Oliver as he did his usual thing and went off for 6 receptions, 174 receiving yards, and 2 receiving TDs. Cooper has been used as an RB and WR at different points this season, but we are going to keep labeling him an RB for now. Lastly for Oliver’s team, his new kid on the block went off this week. [player_tooltip player_id="31196" first="Grover" last="Bortolotti"] put up 192 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, and added 5 additional receiving yards. Where the big point discrepancy came from was my WR/TE slots. [player_tooltip player_id="30849" first="Quinn" last="Taege"] went off for nearly 100 yards and scored twice. [player_tooltip player_id="30746" first="Jack" last="Martens"] continued to be an unstoppable force posting 108 yards, and two scores of his own. [player_tooltip player_id="30856" first="Cyle" last="Kowalski"] made his second appearance on the team with his 42 yards and two scores. The scoring was consistent and often for this group and they really gave my team the edge. With that, I want to say good luck to everyone in week five! I can’t wait to track the stat lines everyone puts up and watch the film of some of the most dominant high school players in the state. I also can’t wait to continue with this fun activity. It’s mostly just for a fun time, but it has really shown how consistent week in and week out the best players in the state are.
