Willmar at Delano: Big Dogs of the Week-Offense

<strong>DELANO-- </strong>Last season, my "Big Dogs of the Week" column was mainly on Friday nights. With more games scheduled for other days of the week in this less than the expected year of 2020, we get to hand out more of them this season! We take a look at who played at their best offensively from the game between Willmar and Delano. <strong>Tate Gallus, RB, Delano (2022)</strong> Most of the time, the Tigers depend on Robbie Knight on being their featured back but yesterday was Tate Gallus’s game to shine. Gallus provided the big bursts for Delano and was a kid that even though the Tigers were down big, they just kept playing like they were in it. Gallus had just under 80 yards rushing and was averaging around 10 yards per carry yesterday for Delano. Also added an interception yesterday. No Tape. Only Lacrosse tape. <strong>Jacob Streed, QB, Willmar (2023)</strong> Streed didn’t get tons of passing attempts on Saturday, but he made the most of it when he did. Streed has a rapid release and can move pretty well outside of the pocket. Not the biggest player as far as measurables, but has some great potential with good touch on the football. <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2EP0S0">Tape vs. Delano</a> <strong>Luke Trochlil, RB, Willmar (2022)</strong> Trochlil broke a nice significant gain later in Willmar's game, a rushing attack that ran for more than 350 on Delano's Saturday afternoon. No Tape <strong>Robbie Knight, RB, Delano (2021)</strong> Knight had to find other ways to be productive in Saturday’s game as running it wasn’t working. Knight showed pretty good hands and hauled in 3 grabs on Saturday for Delano. Knight is on my list because he usually does wasn’t working but still found himself productive with another skillset in mind. No Tape. <strong>Michael Price, RB, Willmar (2022)</strong> Price is such a sneaky runner between the tackles. He ran for over 100 yards yesterday and was certainly off our radar up until yesterday. Standing at 5’9 165 pounds, Delano couldn’t find an answer for his runs in between the tackles yesterday. He’s got a rapid burst and can get upfield quickly. Price was a gamer and had three touchdowns on Saturday in Delano. <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2BrDbH">Tape vs. Alexandria</a> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="18045" first="Trey" last="Longstreet"], TE, Delano (2021)</strong> Longstreet, a top 30 prospect in our 2021 rankings, showed that he has a little more speed than the tape may show. The leaping ability this kid has is something else. His 6’6 frame overtowers any DB, and when you add that he can jump high for any pass is just such a defensive mismatch. Longstreet may have been more of a star on defense yesterday, but seeing him live to catch a pass with that much something was something special, and it’s no wonder the Cyclones have already stepped in with his first offer. <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2CNuQJ">Jr. Tape</a> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="19015" first="Cade" last="Bruett"], QB, Delano (2023)</strong> Bruett still needs quite a bit of development but showed some poise signs as just a young sophomore starting for the Tigers. He needs to work on his vision and not selling where the pass is going. Bruett did complete over half his passes yesterday but did create some costly turnovers, which lead to Cardinal scores. <strong>Jacob Rosendahl, WR, Willmar (2021)</strong> Rosendahl was one of the top Cardinals receivers yesterday, and when you watch back the film on him, you can see why. Rosendahl has a very nice frame at 6'2 195, and I think it has a better hands-on film that I may have seen in the game yesterday. Watch the first 15 seconds of his tape; you'll be impressed. <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2DF53R">Jr. Tape</a> <strong>Alex Schramm, QB, Willmar (2022), Offensive "Big Dog" of the Week</strong> It's hard to say if I have ever seen a QB with as much of a burst of speed than what I saw from Alex Schramm yesterday. The Cardinals were rotating quarterbacks with Schramm being the read-option quarterback, and he was reading the Tigers defense with pure efficiency. Watching him take off on that 70-yard run was something special. Schramm also has decent touch on the football, giving the Cardinals two great underclassmen options at quarterback. <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2EP00p">Tape vs. Delano</a>
