Senior Rockdale running back has committed to Texas Tech. Valdez has received multiple offers including but not limited to Arizona State, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Utah. Valdez first received his offer from Texas Tech back in August.

This season, Valdez has rushed for 906 yards and 15 touchdowns in seven games. He has averaged 129.4 yards per game and has gone over 100 yards in four games. His biggest performance came against Caldwell when he rushed for 239 yards and five touchdowns in a 55-26 win on Oct. 9. In his career, Valdez has rushed for 3,636 yards and 60 touchdowns. In his junior year, he rushed for 1,522 yards and 26 touchdowns. In his sophomore year, he rushed for 1,175 yards and 17 touchdowns. In 2019, he received District 10-3A-I Offensive MVP honors and was named the District 10-3A-I Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2018. He is currently the fifth-ranked running back on the Prep Redzone Texas 2021 Rankings.
