More and more athletes – every class – are emerging as quality prospects that are putting their names out for fans and college coaches to see.
As different schools around Florida have opened every week, many of these football prospects, trapped inside of their homes in quarantine for months, have gotten out and have shown what they can do – and many are watching.
Today, we bring you five more prospects to watch for – as the season continues to progress.
2021 – Colin Blazek, QB, Venice. Without question, one of the biggest stars of the season so far as he plays his first year for the Indians. This is perhaps one of the top senior quarterbacks, and has proven it against top-flight competition – such as 7A powerhouse Lakeland, where he fired four touchdown passes – finishing the game 17 of 30 for 354 yards passing with two interceptions in a huge road win. It was only Lakeland’s fourth home loss in the past 88 games.

2021 – Sammy Edwards, QB, St. Augustine. If it’s a new year, this program has a quarterback who can get the job done – and so far – this quality talent has checked all the boxes, showcasing some enormous talent. In a huge win recently against Palm Coast, he threw three touchdowns and ran for another in a 24-7 win. All three of Edwards’ touchdown tosses came on third-down situations inside the red zone. This is certainly a rising standout.

2022 – Ethan Fahey, QB, Brooksville Nature Coast Tech. As this region of the state continues to churn out top-flight talent, here is a junior quarterback that has been making huge strides and showcasing some impressive talent. Has enjoyed a solid season for a team that is very much on the rise.

2022 – Jorden McCaslin, LB, Tampa Bay Tech. As this program enjoys success, it’s all-around student/athletes like this who continue to step up and make a solid impact. Not only is this 6-2, 215-pounder a solid performer on the football field, but he also gets it done in the classroom – where he sports an impressive 1100 SAT and 3.8 GPA.

2023 – Anthony Rubio, RB/WR, Miami Tru North. Yet another big-time talent that is getting his opportunity to compete as a sophomore – and is doing an outstanding job. After years of competitive youth experience, this speedster recently made the most of his first ever varsity game by carrying nine times for 140 yards and a TD. Definitely keep your eye on this talented young man who is passionate about this game.
