As the 2020 high school football season continues to heat up, the state of Georgia is constantly providing us with incredible match ups. So far, we have seen plenty of prospects, and teams perform at a very high level even despite the parameters set forth due to COVID-19 before the season began. While every team has struggled in some way shape or form, whether big or small, teams are getting up to speed the more they find themselves in competition against other teams, as well as each other during valuable practice time. Entering into week 4, we are looking forward to plenty of incredible match ups throughout the state, especially the 3 we have listed below.
<strong>Warner Robins vs Northside</strong>
What’s not to like about this match up? Both teams are entering into this match up with plenty of talented prospects. At this point of the season, Warner Robins is 1-1, and Northside is 2-1. Warner Robins is looking to add another win to their season, as players such as QB, [player_tooltip player_id="33713" first="Jalen" last="Addie"], and Liberty University LB commit, Ahmad Walker are hoping to take the field and dominate on both sides of the football. While they have each had strong showing so far this season, Northside will also be looking to compete at a very high level, and to add a third win to their season. The Eagle’s star RB Elijah Robinson looks to be able to continue to hit the ground running, and to give the Warner Robins defense a hard time. With this, Northside’s defense has already been playing very well this season, and is waiting for the chance to give Addie, and the Warner Robins offense a hard time.
<strong>Valdosta vs Colquitt</strong>
There are plenty of things to be excited about ss Valdosta faces off with Colquitt this week. First and foremost, Colquitt’s old coach, Rush Propst is now coaching for Valdosta. To make things even crazier, Alan Rodemaker, who previously coached for Valdosta, is now part of the Colquitt coaching staff. This should prove to be interesting in itself, due to these coaches vast knowledge of the opposing team.
This match up will also include tons of star players as well. To start, Valdosta, who is 2-0 this season, has players such as QB, Amari Jones, and WR, [player_tooltip player_id="33718" first="Aalah" last="Brown"], who hope to add on to their early success this season. On the defensive side of the football, MLB, [player_tooltip player_id="33741" first="Jaylin" last="Alderman"], will look to continue to be able to stop the run at a high rate. On the other sideline, Colquitt High school who has started the season 1-0, also has their fair share of talent. Colquitt’s star WR, [player_tooltip player_id="33696" first="Lemeke" last="Brockington"], and their defensive play makers [player_tooltip player_id="33750" first="Omar" last="Daniels"] and [player_tooltip player_id="33747" first="Zy" last="Brockington"] hope to edge out the Wildcats in this weeks match up. Because each of these teams have an equal chance of victory, we expect this to be a match up that goes down to the wire.
<strong>Lee County vs Lowndes</strong>
The last time Lee County and Lowndes met was in 2015, and the match up between these two teams looks to be a good one as well. Since their last match up, Lee County has won 2 state championships, and Lowndes has had their fair share of success as well. This year, Lee County enters this match up 2-0 on the season, and Lowndes is 3-0. As we look forward to this match up, we expect it to be nothing less than great due to the prospective players involved.
Lowndes, who fell short last season, has played with a chip on their shoulder so far, and players such as RB, Justin Lee, who leads his region in rushing, and QB, [player_tooltip player_id="33889" first="Jacurri" last="Brown"], are hoping to score plenty of points on offense, to outdo a strong defensive front from Lee County. While Lee County’s defense, which includes LB’s Baron Hopson, and Jaron Willis, has had plenty of success so far this season, their offense is nothing to overlook. Lee County’s offense includes the likes of RB, [player_tooltip player_id="33689" first="Caleb" last="McDowell"], and WR, Chauncy Magwood. As we draw closer to this match up, we can only encourage you to tune in as well. It will definitely be worth watching.
