Today we look at the Tampa area which is loaded with talent in the 7A Region 2, District 8. Big time players and some under the radar prospects are spotlighted below!
Kenneth Walker- Wiregrass Ranch c/o 23
6’0 180lbs
Walker is a tremendous running back Prospect and he’s only a sophomore, which means he’s only scratching the surface of how good he could be. He has tremendous cut back vision and speed, he’s a slasher that sets his blocks up nicely and shows burst through the hole. Walker also shows the ability to catch and looks to be a true three-down back. He’s rushed for over 300 yards in the first three games. The sky’s the limit for this young man!

Rod Gainey- Tampa Bay Tech c/o 24
5’9 170lbs
Gainey has a chance to be one of the best running backs to ever come through Hillsborough County before it’s all said and done. He runs with good quickness and has a unique ability to elude defenders, and has a burst to pick up chunks of yards. He has home run hitting speed and outstanding vision. Gainey is a terrific D-1 prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="50208" first="Armone" last="Bostick"]- East Bay c/o 22
5’10 180lbs
Bostick has burst on the scene this year and is quickly becoming a force in Tampa. He’s rushed for 139 yards in two games this season, he is a smooth runner who has good vision, balance, and acceleration. He does a really good job setting up his blocks and eluding defenders; despite his size he will drop his shoulder and run through, and punish tacklers.

Corniel McCrary- Wiregrass Ranch c/o 22
5’10 160lbs
McCrary is a solid prospect and forms an outstanding one-two punch with Walker. Last season McCrary rushed for 480 yards and 10 touchdowns. His greatest assets are his vision, patience, hands, and his ability to pick up chunks of yards.

James Smiley- Armwood c/o 22
5’11 205lbs
Smiley is one of the best running back prospects in the State of Florida. He currently holds over 10 offers including power 5 offers from Arizona State, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Penn State, and Pitt. As a runner he has good patience, wiggle, and balance. He’s a powerful downhill runner that keeps his legs churning, but also has burst and acceleration through the hole.
