Top Punters and Kickers in 2021 NC Class

In my opinion, I think two of the most important positions to recruit are punters and kickers. Time and time again we have seen the game come down to a last second field goal or a punt that is needed to pin the other team. Although there aren’t many players at these positions in the 2021 class, I believe there is still a ton of talent in North Carolina. Here are the top punters and kickers from the upcoming recruiting class: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="28494" first="Matthew" last="Dennis"], K, 5’11 and 163 lbs, Myers Park HS</strong> Dennis is a fundamentally sound kicker that displays perfect technique and an ideal follow through. He is never in danger of getting his kicks blocked because of the height he puts on the ball at impact and his timing of the snap. Matthew is a very accurate short range kicker that consistently puts the field goal through the middle of the uprights. He has a huge leg that he uses to boot the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs. Currently committed to Wake Forest. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="28499" first="Eddie" last="Czaplicki"], P/K, 6’1 and 185 lbs, Providence HS</strong> Czaplicki is a prototypical punter that gets excellent hang time on his punts and makes the ball explode off the foot. He has the skill to punt it almost 60 yards in the air which allows his team to totally flip the field position. Eddie is elite at landing the punt right along the sideline and not allowing the returner to even touch the ball. He possesses an effortless punting motion and gives his teammates plenty of time to get to the returner. Also is a strong kicker that can be used on the kickoff team. Committed to Arizona State right now. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="28520" first="Jeff" last="Yurk"], P/K, 6’1 and 195 lbs, Pinecrest HS</strong> Yurk is a versatile punter and kicker that has the ability to do both at the college level. He has a nice sweeping motion on field goals that allows him to get great velocity on his kicks. Jeff is most accurate in the 30-40 yard range for FGs and knows how to power the ball on kickoffs. He creates spinning punts that make it hard for the returner to haul in and can pin his opponent inside the 5 yard line. Has offers from Elon and Fordham but is getting interest from many D1 teams. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="28617" first="Todd" last="Pledger"], K, 6’8 and 185 lbs, Mountain Island HS</strong> Pledger is a tall kicker that is extremely accurate in the short distance field goals. However, he has the leg strength to make kicks in the 50 yard range as well. Todd has a consistent kicking motion that allows him to lift the ball over opponents with ease. He’s another player that doesn’t allow the other team to get a chance on kickoffs. Currently being looked at by multiple D1 teams including UNC.
