The Eagles have an incredibly young team, and their star player this year is sophomore defensive lineman, Leebeus Overton. The elite 6-foot-4 240-pounder is one of the nation’s best in the 2020 class and already holds offers from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, FSU, among others. He already looks like an SEC-caliber prospect and he has three years of high school left to go. He’ll push for 5-star status down the road due to his size, athleticism, and ability to wreak havoc in the backfield against both the run and the pass.
At quarterback, junior Devin Farrell Devin Farrell 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Milton | 2022 State GA is one of the top under the radar junior QBs in the state. At 6-foot-0 190-pounds, Farrell is a true dual-threat QB whose arm is becoming stronger and more accurate by the day. He’s dangerous with his legs and can pick up yards in a hurry, but if he can continue to develop as a passer, the Eagles could find themselves in the hunt for another state title. He’ll have plenty of weapons with year including junior tight end Jack Nickel Jack Nickel 6'4" | 230 lbs | TE Milton | 2022 State GA (a Notre Dame commit) and 2022 athlete Jordan McDonald.
McDonald, who will play running back for the Eagles at 6-foot-0 215-pounds, holds offers from FSU, Kentucky, Louisville, South Carolina, and Maryland. Farrell holds offers from Duke, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, among others.
On the offensive line, junior tackle Mo Clipper Jr. is a massive lineman who should start seeing some college programs start to look his way. He’ll be a full year starter this fall and the Milton staff is sky high on him heading into the season. If there’s one breakout star on defense for the Eagles, it’s Horton. The 6-foot-3 195-pounder is long, athletic, and really proving himself on this team. He played more and more last season as a sophomore, and he’s on a breakout path right now as we head to the 2020 season. At cornerback, the Eagles also have 2023 star Bryce Thornton Bryce Thornton 5'11" | 190 lbs | DB Milton | 2023 State GA who holds offers from some top programs in the south.
The Eagle’s aren’t the only team with talent. For Johns Creek, the player to keep an eye on is offensive tackle Tyler Gibson Tyler Gibson 6'5" | 285 lbs | OL Johns Creek | 2022 State GA . The big 6-foot-5 285-pound tackle is coming off an impressive sophomore season where he picked up offers from Arkansas, FSU, Georgia Tech, Indiana, and Boston College. Other major programs are showing interest, so a big junior season could see him adding to an already impressive offer sheet. He’s long, athletic, and will have his hands full all night against Overton. If he can handle the elite 2023 defensive end, Gibson’s ranking should climb sooner than later.
