5. [player_tooltip player_id="28538" first="Austin" last="Grier"], 6’ 195, Vance- Grier put up monster numbers during Vance’s title run a season ago, throwing for over 3500 yards over the course of the season. Grier’s bread and butter is his deep ball accuracy, which he’s able to display often thanks to a speedy group of receivers. Grier recently committed to Columbia, a testament to his work in the classroom as well.
4. [player_tooltip player_id="28564" first="Sully" last="McDermott"], 6’4 210, Marvin Ridge- McDermott is one of the most underrated players in the state, regardless of region or position. Every time I watch him play, I’m blown away by how polished he looks and more blown away by the fact that he doesn’t have dozens of schools vying for his services. He has the arm strength and accuracy to make every throw in the book.
3. [player_tooltip player_id="28534" first="Ethan" last="Reid"], 6’4 225, Kings Mountain- Reid is a tall, strong quarterback that delivers an accurate deep ball and put up monster numbers as a junior. His ball placement is excellent and though he isn’t really a dual threat, he has excellent movement skills in the pocket. Expect Reid to have another huge year as a senior.
2. [player_tooltip player_id="44970" first="Tad" last="Hudson"], 6’3 205, Hough- The youngest player on our list may also end up being the most talented by the time he’s a senior. Hudson played well in limited action as a freshman but will take over as the full-time starter on one of the most talented teams in the state. He’s got a college arm and size and as he continues to mature, he will display more of the intangibles that teams are excited to see.
1. [player_tooltip player_id="28445" first="Drake" last="Maye"], 6’4 195, Myers Park- Maye is a standout high school quarterback and college prospect committed to North Carolina. While we don’t expect him to play in the spring, he’s the number one guy in the Charlotte area. He has a live arm and his completion percentage as a junior was through the roof. He will have time to add weight in college as he sits behind fellow Charlotte product Sam Howell for a year.
