Every week during the regular and post season, I will profile a player in order to garner interest from college programs. This week I am profiling an outstanding young man from St. Charles Prep, John Protz. St. Charles recently made the decision to carry on with a fall season albeit a little later than their competition.
John is very intelligent (3.86 GPA, 29 ACT) and takes a rigorous course load. He will pursue a degree in Sports Management.
Through film study, John is a can’t miss player at the safety position and would be a great addition to a program’s 2021 class.
He has a nose for the ball and attacks it in the air. He is patient in his backpedal and has his eyes in the correct place off the snap and through the play. He is adept at staying deeper than the deepest and has the speed to catch up when beat. He is an aggressive tackler with good downhill burst on inside and outside run.

“I believe I would be a great fit for a college team in the Fall of 2021 because I am an energetic playmaker on both sides of the ball with a relentless work ethic and one of the biggest chips on my shoulder.”
