Here is a scouting report on the Trojans who played large roles in the road win.
Offensive Stars of the Game
RB, Conner Olivera, 5’10”, 150 – Olivera is quick and shifty. He sparked the Girard offense with two touchdown receptions of 28 and 65 yards. He finished with three catches for 109 yards. He also had a big 27-yard run. The senior is looking for his first collegiate football offer.
RB, Ethan Merrell, 6’3”, 185 – Merrell is just a junior so keep an eye on this guy. He is a tough between the tackle runner and blocker. He carried the ball 14 times for 46 yards to help Girard move the chains and control the clock.
QB, Caden Lallemand, 5’8”, 200 – Lallemand was on the throwing end off Olivera’s touchdown catches. Lallemand does not have a prototypical quarterback frame, but he does have a good arm. He added a rushing touchdown to his score sheet. He might project as a college fullback depending on program needs.
All three Girard players are looking for their first collegiate offers.
Defensive Stars of the Game
DL, Eli Tucker, 6’3”, 312 (’21 Ranked No. 241) – Tucker is a beast. He just flat out wore down the Panthers’ offensive line. He finished the game with four tackles and a sack. He could project has a NAIA or JUCO performer. Tucker also plays offensive tackle, but he was more impressive on defense in the win.
DL, Dee Wideman, 6’1”, 264– Wideman is another big kid. He is faster than Tucker, and could eventually become an
NAIA or JUCO defensive end. He also finished with four tackled and a sack in the Trojan victory.
LB, Brecken Troike, 5’8”, 207 – Troike was the most impressive linebacker for Girard. He is just a junior in the Class of 2022, so recruiters should start looking for his video. Troike had seven tackles and a sack.
