With no spring or summer – and a late start in the fall for most teams and players, this is the time that seniors need to get film for college coaches to see what they have.
Much like the underclassmen who went through a growth spurt and weight gain in the past 10 months, the seniors are at the point where this could be the final opportunity to show what they have and get some assistance to move on to college.
Today, we take a look at some of those seniors that are turning heads and helping to shine the spotlight in their director.
Austin Brannen, LB, 6-0, 220, Lutz Steinbrenner. This is someone who has flown way beneath the radar, but hit the 2020 season with plenty of optimism. Over 300 career total tackles, numerous caused fumbles and seven sacks from his linebacker position. Numerous academic numbers such as an over 5.0 GPA and All-Conference honors have only enhanced what this quality student/athlete brings to the table. Outstanding student/athlete who continues to make an impact.

Malcolm Major, DT, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna. As the season unfolded for the three-time defending 3A state champions, this is an impressive football talent who has been everything as advertised in the opening game for the Lions. A quality football player who is part of a tremendous unit. Watch him play and you see someone who has the potential to be a difference maker for a long time.

Joe Pesansky, QB, Tampa Jesuit. Perhaps one of the biggest stories in the state, here is a 6-foot-4 standout who has a strong arm, tremendous accuracy and continues to be the leader that this program needed. Came out of the gate this season and has never looked back. College coaches are already on him, but to watch him perform, he is indeed at another level.

Sterle Scott, WR, Lake Mary. Going into the season, this is a playmaker that the Rams really looked to, and he has not let anyone down. An outstanding pass catcher who can run and play with anyone. A solid football talent that has a chance to show leadership that this program needs. He is that player you go to when you need a play to be made.

2021 – Cornelius Shaw, RB/SS, Lakeland Victory Christian. One of the elite runners who has power, vision and speed – and was a huge catalyst in getting this team to the 2A state finals last season. His vision is tremendous and his durability and leadership are only second to the love this young man has for the sport. He is also a quality defensive safety, where he will hit you!
