The 2020 fall season has been postponed until January 1st, 2021, for the Philadelphia Catholic League as are most Philadelphia leagues who are following suit with the Governor’s mandate. We share the disappointment as what would have been a stellar 2020 fall season will have to wait. The Philadelphia Catholic league holds some of the premier talents in all of PA. St.Joes Prep, Neumann&Goretti, and Bishop McDevitt dominate the league as far as talent goes. Today, we will preview the Red Division in the PCL and what to expect this coming Spring.

The argument can be made that the bulk of talent in Philadelphia resides in the PCL Red Division alone. A whopping total of 30 ranked players play for the top four teams in the Red division, with St.Joe’s bringing out eight ranked seniors, many of which have garnered national attention from big-time D1 programs. The spotlight can’t be any brighter on St.Joes’ [player_tooltip player_id="27192" first="Kyle" last="McCord"], [player_tooltip player_id="27189" first="Marvin" last="Harrison Jr"]., and [player_tooltip player_id="27193" first="Jeremiah" last="Trotter Jr"]. They will lead the way once again for Joes as to what will most likely be another division title solely based on the sheer amount of talent across every class and every position. La Salle, Roman, and Wood all put up great fights in 2019 trying to keep up with St.Joe’s and I expect that to continue based on stellar senior classes for each team. Wood posted an awesome 11-3 overall record in 2019. [player_tooltip player_id="27200" first="Robert" last="Jackson"], one of PA’s best defensive lineman who is currently holding offers from Pitt, West Virginia, and Arizona State, is remaining at Wood looking to dominate the PCL again. Wood’s offense looks to keep pace with 2019, featuring [player_tooltip player_id="27551" first="Max" last="Keller"], [player_tooltip player_id="27542" first="Daniel" last="Jefferys"], and [player_tooltip player_id="27518" first="Cardel" last="Pigford"]. La Salle’s senior class isn’t to be overlooked, however, it’s La Salle’s star-studded juniors who look to lead the way into 2021. Our #1 ranked junior linebacker in all of PA, [player_tooltip player_id="27556" first="Abdul" last="Carter"], will spear-head a young but talented defense, while our #2 ranked junior running back, Sam Brown, will lead the offense. If these two continue to develop during the extended time off, they can give La Salle a serious shot at the Division title. Roman Catholic also has a shot at the division championship. They too boast a loaded senior class, totaling six ranked 2021 prospects. Roman’s offense is electric, [player_tooltip player_id="27324" first="Jayden" last="Pope"], one of Pa’s best senior quarterbacks without an FBS offer, is a raw talent who has all the potential to play at the next level. The offense also features seniors [player_tooltip player_id="27437" first="Daquan" last="Robinson"] at runningback, Nadir McLeod at wideout, and [player_tooltip player_id="27283" first="Luke" last="Duska"] along the offensive line. This will for sure be a division to watch for anyone scouting in Philadelphia. Here are the 2021 Spring projections for the PCL Red division.
