This very reason makes it very fun to keep track of the younger players in the state, especially WR’s, as a way to discover players before they blow up. Below, we have listed a few of our favorite WR’s from the 2023 class who we think you should start to get familiar with.
Jaden Drayton- 5’10 155 Glynn
Jaden Drayton is by far the best player on this list, and his ceiling is that of someone who could easily develop into a Power 5 player. Not only does he have breakaway speed, but he is very twitchy, and shows the ability to change direction at a high level. Drayton often times finds himself in a position to make home run plays, and always goes the distance when these opportunities present themselves. This results in a large amount of yards after catch. With this, Drayton also catches the ball very cleanly, and gets out of his breaks, and cuts well. Expect this season to be a big year for Drayton, and do not be surprised when big name schools start looking his way.
Andre Craig Andre Craig 6'0" | 185 lbs | WR Meadow Creek | 2023 State GA – 6’0 160 Locust Grove
It does not take long to notice that Craig is a very fluid WR. He also has the kind of burst that allows him to turn the corner and make big gains. His stick move also allows him to beat those who are covering him, and helps him to gain separation. Along with this, Craig’s hand, eye coordination is something that has already been a strength for him because it can be seen that he tracks the ball into his hands very well, and makes strong catches. His frame is also decent for his age, and his ability to gain yards after the catch will definitely be huge for him moving forward. Look for him to start to gain attention this season.
Kameron Edge Kameron Edge 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Central | 2023 State GA – 6’3 180 Central
Kameron Edge Kameron Edge 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Central | 2023 State GA will probably be the least known prospect on this list, but he showed flashes of potential in his freshman season. Not only does he already have a favorable frame and length, but he showed the ability to track the football very well. Edge also catches the ball cleanly with his hands, and shows a small bit of burst at times. Perhaps the biggest thing Edge will need to work on would be his ability to run routes. At this stage in his development, he is a bit of a raw route runner, but he will continue to develop over time, and will grow as a player because of it.
