Top 2021 Players Without a Power 5 Offer

Top 2021 Players Without a Power 5 Offer

There are currently 22 Indiana prospects reported as having at least one Power 5 offer in the 2021 class. With Covid restrictions cancelling the Spring Eval Period and college camps, recruiting over the past four months has been vastly different from what coaches are used to. Due to the premium put on seeing a prospect in person prior to extending an offer at the Power 5 level, many teams stuck to recruiting and offering players that they already had some familiarity with. I believe this could result in more initial Sr evals/offers than we have seen in recent memory. Here are 5 2021’s that could be in line for big offers this fall!

LB [player_tooltip player_id="38921" first="Jackson" last="Schott"] - Center Grove HS

Jackson ended his recruitment early by committing to Miami (OH) after only his second offer. With a great frame, length, and a high level of athleticism for the position... he is a prospect that will definitely be on Power 5 radars this coming season. With the size of a linebacker and the athleticism of a safety, players like him are highly sought after in today’s age of football because of the spread offense. With his ability to rush the passer, be a sideline to sideline defender in the run game, and cover TE’s vertical... He brings a ton of versatility to the position. Schott also eats up a lot of space in underneath zone coverage which really shrinks the throwing windows for opposing quarterbacks. I am really excited to see what he does in the coming season.

DL [player_tooltip player_id="38917" first="Jalen" last="Monrrow"] - Jefferson HS

Monrrow racked up an impressive 12 D1 offers before committing to Cincinnati. The thing I love about Jalen is his upside. He’s long, lean, athletic, and just scratching the surface of what he can be as a football player. He has a great first step, runs well, and has the ability to play a few different positions on the DL. Defensive line is always a position that teams are looking for the closer it gets to signing day. Even with his comitment to Cincinnatti, I would not be surprised to see some Power 5 teams take a run at Jalen when it is all said and done.

LB [player_tooltip player_id="38916" first="Bobby" last="Babcock"] - Hobart HS

Illinois State is getting one heck of a player in their recent commit, [player_tooltip player_id="38916" first="Bobby" last="Babcock"]. Throwback player that plays the game the way it is supposed to be played. Fast, physical, and with passion. I love a player that gets me excited when I turn on the film, and Babcock jumps off the screen. He doesn’t have the prototypical measurables for a Power 5 player, but he has that type of talent. Should have a chance to contribute right away at the college level. Top 50 All-State as a Jr.

DL [player_tooltip player_id="38920" first="Larry" last="Harris"] - Lawrence North HS

Ball state has a good one in commit [player_tooltip player_id="38920" first="Larry" last="Harris"]. A big interior defensive lineman that eats up gaps, destroys double teams, and should develop into a force against the run at the college level. His interior pass rush ability is something that college coaches are always looking for in defensive tackles, and is a trait that will make him an intriguing prospect for Power 5 teams as we get closer to singing day. I also love his motor and the way you see him transition from rushing to passer to chasing the ball down the field.

WR [player_tooltip player_id="38926" first="Camden" last="Jordan"]- Cathedral HS

As of right now, Camden is going the college baseball route, and has committed to swing the bat for Louisville. The fact that he has D1 baseball offers, and 9 D1 football offers, is a testament to how great of an athlete he is. A player with the speed to stretch the field and ability to line up in the slot or on the outside. He is a skilled athlete with great body control, quickness, ball skills, and a knack for gaining separation from defensive backs. It looks like he is planning on going the baseball route for now, but that can often change when a prospect picks up Power 5 football offers. There is also a chance that a Power 5 football team could offer him and allow him to play both sports in college. Camden will be a player that is on a number of Power 5 teams Sr evaluation board this coming fall.
