One of the best in a state that has more than its share of elite athletes.

ONCE AGAIN, THE DEFENSIVE SECONDARY IS STACKED
While McGhee is easily as good a corner and athlete as you will find, the state of Florida also has some others that are also worth check out. Look at these 5 gems:
[player_tooltip player_id="32832" first="Corey" last="Coley Jr."], 6-1, 175, Jacksonville Trinity Christian. One of the first things you notice about this University of Maryland commitment are his ball skills. He will mix it up with anyone, and will come away with the ball or knock it down. Tremendous tackler who will give you space, but will track you down as soon as you make a catch. Even on the offensive side of the ball – when he plays receiver – he has that burst and tremendous hands to extend plays and get into the endzone.

[player_tooltip player_id="32836" first="Daniel" last="Edwards"], 6-0, 160, Winter Park. Another versatile football player who is tremendous in the secondary, but also has the skills and athleticism to play receiver. His speed opens up all kinds of avenues for he and the Wildcats. On defense, he is not afraid to stick his head in there and be a physical corner. His tackling is impressive and wraps up as well as any who plays the position. He is a true playmaker that has leaping ability and reads plays so well. This is going to be a productive talent for years to come.

[player_tooltip player_id="32837" first="Derrick" last="Edwards"] III, 6-0, 180, Miami Palmetto. When you get an opportunity to watch football prospects live and see everything that they do, you tend to appreciate them a lot more. Football talent like this has a knack of stepping up and making a difference when games are on the line. May be one of the most overlooked defensive backs in Florida, but once you watch him play, that all changes and you see it for yourself.

Da’Quan Gonzales, 5-11, 170, Jensen Beach. Sometimes you get these no frills prospects that all they do is come to practice or games and make plays. It’s a business. Here is one of those go to work, no nonsense prospects who will get in the receivers’ pocket and stay there until the game ends. An elusive athlete who brings so much to the table for this program as a defensive back and on special teams as a kick returner. Solid football player who definitely leads by example. When needed to give the offense a boost, he will do that as well from the slot or receiver position.

[player_tooltip player_id="32845" first="Steffan" last="Johnson"], 6-2, 175, Venice. Make no mistake. No matter where this young man lines up, the Indians get a whole lot better. Tremendous cover corner, who is physical and athletic. In addition to being a superb secondary performer, he happens to be an elite running quarterback as well. His ability to hit the hole from the Wildcat formation presents a lot of problems for all defenses – as he showed this past season. What an amazing talent!
