We’ll have updates, highlights, interviews and more. Part of that “more” are scouting reports. We’ll have breakdowns on some of the top performers that we saw in person. Some of those players will already be established prospects. Others might be under the radar and ready to emerge. Every weekend, check out our scouting reports to see who stepped up in a big way on Friday night.
#2 OWASSO DEFEATS #5 EDMOND SANTA FE 48-21
Our week zero game of the week was an absolute runaway from the start. #2 Owasso showed why they’re the reigning 6A-D1 champs by beating down Santa Fe 48-21. Early miscues on offense and special teams doomed Santa Fe on Friday night. Owasso scored on four of their first six offensive plays and led 28-0 halfway thru the opening quarter. From there, Owasso put in on cruise control and rolled to the easy win. Several individuals shined for the Rams in the victory. You can check out their breakdowns below. – 2021 – Defensive Back
One of the question marks with Owasso coming into the season was the cornerback position. With Deuce Mayberry now at Kansas, who would step up to lock down the opposing team’s top receiver. We might have that answer now. There were many times when senior corner

, arguably the best receiver in the state. Bickham did a great job in the match-up. He had a few pass deflections and limited what Shettron was able to do. Bickham wasn’t exclusively lined up against the Santa Fe star but did a great job when he was. Shettron was limited to just a few catches and one touchdown. Bickham was not lined up against Shettron when he made the touchdown reception.

– 2021 – Linebacker
The first of two heavy hitting linebackers, Dye had an excellent game on Friday night. Dye showed off the complete skill set from the linebacker position. He was able to help in run support and he was routinely making the right reads and taking the right angles. He also showed the ability to help in pass coverage. But when it comes down to what Dye does best, he showed that off throughout the night. Dye has bad intentions when he reaches his targets and he was able to lay down a couple big hits during Owasso’s victory. Dye’s stock is skyrocketing as a linebacker prospect. With a strong senior season, he’ll have some great opportunities for the next level.

started off his sophomore season with a bang. The young playmaker had a unique hat trick of touchdowns in the first quarter of Owasso’s win. He threw a touchdown, ran for a touchdown and caught a touchdown. Again, all three of them coming in Owasso’s 35-point first quarter. Adams scored his rushing touchdown on Owasso’s first offensive play of the game. He threw a touchdown to Jaray Austin later in the quarter. He caught a 62-yard touchdown to complete the hat trick. Needless to say, Adams showed off his versatility in the win. However, his best abilities are as a slot receiver and he burnt the Santa Fe secondary on several occasions.

. Owasso came out and had some trick plays and definitely surprised Santa Fe but they also plowed over the Santa Fe defense with the running attack. Gilbert, an Air Force commit, has already established himself as one of the better offensive linemen in Oklahoma’s 2021 class. He lined up as Owasso’s right tackle throughout the night. However, a move to the interior of the O-Line might be in his future at the college level. Gilbert leads an Owasso line that returns everyone from last year’s title team. It looks like it’s going to be a good year for Gilbert and the Rams up front.

– 2021 – Linebacker
The other half of the hard-hitting Owasso linebackers is Triplett. After a breakout junior season where he became one of the best linebackers in the state, Triplett is continuing to improve. Watching Triplett around his teammates on the sidelines and before the game, you can tell that he’s more vocal with his leadership now as a senior. With Triplett and Dye, Owasso might have the best group of linebackers in the state. Triplett committed to Army over the summer and will more than likely stick with that commitment. But that’s not going to stop other colleges from trying to get in the mix. When it comes to pure linebackers, you’re not going to find a better one in Oklahoma right now than Owasso’s Triplett.

was doing that a few years ago. Goins has been a main part of the Owasso offense for what feels like six years now. He’s one of the more consistent wide receiver prospects in the state and has made some very big plays during his career. On Friday night, Goins made more plays at receiver. But what we came away impressed with was his play as a wildcat quarterback. Owasso is playing two different quarterbacks for now. And they also put Goins back there and he had success. Running for a touchdown in the first quarter. Having said all of that, Goins might not even play football at the next level. He’s currently committed to play lacrosse at Albany. That shouldn’t stop any college from trying to get him back on the football field.

had a really good showing on Friday night. He was in a rotation with 2022 DT Michael Jamerson and the two of them were disruptive all night long. Rich made several plays in the backfield and has great size already. Rich was a name that we didn’t know much about coming into the season but we’ll certainly be paying closer attention to how he continues to develop. If Friday night was any indication of how his sophomore season will go, he could be an absolute breakout playmaker at the DT position.
