As we move closer and closer to the start of the football season, it is important that we highlight as many players as possible.
With that said, we are going to take a look at the top skill position players from as many districts as possible in the state before fall camps begin.
Some of these players are already receiving college interest, while others are looking to catch the eye of that right coach.

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="23835" first="Ashton" last="Cook"] - Iowa City Regina</strong>
It was a big season for Iowa City Regina’s [player_tooltip player_id="23835" first="Ashton" last="Cook"] in 2019, and the Class of 2021 prospect is sure to be one of the top names on the board this year.
Cook completed 198 of 345 passes for 2,446 yards with 25 touchdowns. He had just seven interceptions, averaging over 12 yards per completion with a quarterback rating of 117.
Along with being one of the elite passers in the state, Cook showed his athletic abilities, rushing for 302 yards and eight more touchdowns.
<strong>Theo Kolie - Iowa City Regina</strong>
As you might expect, the Class of 2021 at Iowa City Regina is an elite one. And the Regals are sure to be contenders in Class A because of it.
Theo Kolie led the team in rushing a year ago, racking up 922 yards and eight touchdowns. He averaged six yards per carry and also hauled in a handful of passes.
His backfield mate, Levi Quinlan, is also a special talent having ran for 491 yards while adding 25 receptions for 220 with five combined scores.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="23898" first="Alec" last="Wick"] - Iowa City Regina</strong>
It is hard to even imagine the amount of time [player_tooltip player_id="23835" first="Ashton" last="Cook"] and [player_tooltip player_id="23898" first="Alec" last="Wick"] have spent together, but the Iowa City Regina duo are one of the best in the state.
Wick caught 79 passes for 1,161 yards with 14 touchdowns a year ago. He averaged almost 15 yards per reception in the high-octane Regal offense.
He also picked off four passes and averaged over 15 yards per kickoff return.
<strong>Owen Donovan - Highland</strong>
Highland will be looking at plenty more out of Owen Donovan in 2020 after the Class of 2021 prospect ran for 726 yards with eight touchdowns a year ago.
Donovan was one-half of a package duo, but Cole Adamson has graduated.
Donovan also had a big year in the passing game, catching five passes for 165 yards with two of those going for scores. He was also big in the return game, averaging almost 26 yards per kickoff return and 25 yards per punt return.
<strong>Cole Clark - Lisbon</strong>
Lisbon shared the ball around on offense last year, as three backs had over 50 carries. One was Cole Clark, as the experienced member of the group went for 500 yards with seven touchdowns.
Clark averaged almost six yards per carry for the Lions, who ran for over 1,800 yards as a collective unit.
On defense, Clark recorded 70.5 tackles including 4.5 for loss with 58 solo stops. He also picked off two passes and recovered a fumble.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="23917" first="Kael" last="Unruh"] - North Cedar</strong>
North Cedar will have a new quarterback, but whoever that is will have some nice targets to work with.
[player_tooltip player_id="23917" first="Kael" last="Unruh"], a Class of 2021 prospect, was constantly torching defenses in 2019. He finished with 33 receptions for an incredible 805 yards with 12 touchdowns.
That comes out to 24.4 yards per reception while reaching the end zone every third catch. Unruh also picked off three passes on defense and handled some punt return duties.
