Just to the east, west and south of Tallahassee, there are always outstanding football talent that often never gets the spotlight that other areas of the state receive.
While we put out a number of prospects and teams from this area, there are many who are truly under-the-radar and never have the opportunity for several colleges to check them out.
For athletes of this region, going to Orlando, Atlanta or even Miami in search of the exposure needed is what they have been doing for years, and despite having successful programs at Madison County and other teams, the players often get lost in the shuffle.
Today, we bring you five Class of 2022 juniors to look at as they get ready for the 2020 season.
These prospects have had some exposure, but never enough to continue to put them in an ongoing spotlight.
Check out these five emerging standouts:
Rohan Goulbourne, DT/OL, Tallahassee Lincoln. This is one of those emerging stars who gets it done on both sides of the ball for the Trojans, and did this all as a sophomore, who has shown that he is strong and talented, and as he continues to mature, there is no getting around the fact that this is going to be one of those linemen who will climb the ladder to the top. Just watch him play, and there is no way you won’t be sold about his future. Two-way standout who gives it all on each and every play.

Brandon Martin, QB, Tallahassee Leon. For two years, here is someone who has established himself as an athletic quarterback who can run, pass and lead. While he still has a long way to go, there is so much to like about an athlete who will do anything it takes to be a leader – and the end result is how he moves the chains. Has good arm strength, improving accuracy and is always picking things up in the offense for the Lions.

Jesus McQuay, OL, Madison County. For the offense that this powerhouse runs, here is a perfect linemen to help move it. Just under 6-foot and over 270 pounds, here is a strong, hard-working young man who has the opportunity to keep the Cowboys on top for years to come. Remember, he is young and still learning, and with head coach Mike Coe teaching, you can see how this is going to be a very talented football player for this elite 1A team.

Denzel Miller, Slot/CB, Crawfordville Wakulla. Go back to last season and look at some of the bigger games this program played, and this quality standout was very much in the middle of those huge wins. Whether it was as a defensive back making big plays with interceptions or game-saving tackles – or the way he responded as a slot receiver who has speed, athletic ability and a knack of getting open, this was someone that this program counted on – and will once again in 2020. It is no mistake that the War Eagles had such an impressive season.

Myron Ward, OL, Tallahassee Rickards. Another young line prospect from this region. Someone who made some huge strides as a sophomore – and a very athletic big man, who can move very well. He opens holes, pass blocks and continues to learn and pick up very valuable experience. In addition to what he continues to do by working hard on the football field, this is a young man who also gets it done in the classroom, where he holds down a 3.3 GPA.
