Because the last time that college coaches really had the opportunity to see the prospects perform was as much as nine months ago, there is a need to see how much weight the athlete gained, how much taller they have gotten and most importantly, the maturity level of the football player. In recruiting, those are things that determine whether a prospect is a highly recruited or not.
As seniors are anxious to show college coaches how much they’ve grown, the junior class is also looking to jump on the radar.
Today, we give you a peek into the Class of 2022 quarterback position – with athletes throughout the state:
Curtis Argroves, Longwood Lyman. Very athletic football player who is flying below the radar. Tremendous field presence over 1,100 yards and 13 TDs last season, this is a quality prospect who throws a very accurate ball that is easy to catch. While he doesn’t have the biggest arm around, he is a smart athlete who will run when he has to and move the chains. Shows outstanding leadership.

Billy Donahue, Fort Myers Riverdale. While he is more of a running quarterback who will end up playing running back or perhaps defensive back, he is still the kind of signal caller who can make a huge difference in any offense. This is a true athletic football player, who helps teams win.

Zomarion Harper, Belle Glade Glades Central. One of the premier quarterbacks in Florida who continues to get better and prove that he has a chance to be very special for the Raiders over the next two years. Burst on the scene in the spring of 2019 and turned some heads at a jamboree with several big time college coaches in attendance. Has a very strong arm and will run when needed. Has the size and athletic ability to play this game for a long time. This year will be a huge in the overall recruiting process.

Tyler Perry, Trenton. No matter where you line this gifted football player up, he will deliver for a program that is looking to get back to the title game in 1A. Accounted for over 3,300 yards and 35 scores for this team. Can run, throw and lead this team as an All-State selection in 2019. Has tremendous arm strength. On defense, he’s nearly impossible to throw the ball on – because of his speed, size and athleticism. This is an outstanding football player who is going to break some records over the next two years.

Trent Townsend, Dunnellon. For those who never watched this All-State performer play, they are missing out. Tremendous arm strength, outstanding field awareness and excellent leadership. Super football player who many will find out about this coming season. Throws the ball well – and is accurate on all passes – even his long balls. Colleges will continue to show him plenty of love in 2020.
