Size, quickness and overall athleticism gave this young man instant notoriety, and after watching him play for the Spartans, everyone was sold.
On Tuesday, Williams, who was originally committed to the University of Miami, then de-committed, joined one of the top recruiting classes in the nation when he chose the Hurricanes over the University of Georgia.
His national reputation came the following year when he made the move the Plantation American Heritage – where he learned from former NFL defensive backs Daryl Porter and Pat Surtain.
After one season with the Patriots, Williams made the move to a public school, competing in the secondary and as a tight end for Western High, which went three rounds deep in the 8A playoffs.
After that one season, Williams heads back to American Heritage for his final season.
Williams is indeed a throwback safety at 6-foot-5, and is ready to help lead the Patriots back to a start title, which they haven’t been at in three years.

SAFETY PROSPECTS ARE NOT HARD TO FIND
While Williams is the top safety prospect among Class of 2021 players, he is not alone. Here are five more football players to keep an eye on:
[player_tooltip player_id="32827" first="Dontae" last="Balfour"], 6-2, 170, Starke Bradford County. The theme with many safety prospects in Florida is being versatile. Not only is Dontae a major defensive back prospect, but he also is one of the greatest offensive weapons the Tornadoes have. At his size, it’s almost unfair to watch him play corner back, which he does quite well. As a safety, his ability to lock down receivers with his body has college coaches watching his every move – still.

[player_tooltip player_id="32834" first="Kionte" last="Curry"], 6-1, 170, Cocoa. This is a big time athlete who makes an impact wherever he plays. While he is easily one of the state’s premier safety prospects, he also can abuse defensive backs as a receiver, and you can almost guarantee that the Tigers will use him anywhere he is needed. Sure tackler and outstanding coverage skills, his size and athleticism really outs him over the top.

[player_tooltip player_id="32693" first="Kevin" last="Knowles"], 5-10, 175, Hollywood McArthur. Here is a Top 100 football player who continued to get better each and every season. Always rises to the occasion when he is matched against top-flight receivers, as he showed in the off season at combines and 7-on-7 events as well during the season where he played man-to-man outside coverage a number of times and used his skill level to over-match receivers. Great anticipation on coverage and amazing ball skills. He is also one of the top secondary tacklers you will find. The total package who can play anywhere in the secondary.

[player_tooltip player_id="32923" first="Jaquan" last="Lowman"], 6-1, 175, Apopka. One of the versatile prospects in this class, here is a tremendous football player who brings everything to the table as an athlete, who is also a quarterback for the Blue Darters that led this team to the 8A state championship game against Christopher Columbus. Even though he is effective as a quarterback, his speed and overall skill level puts him at the top as one of the premier safety prospects.

[player_tooltip player_id="32671" first="De’Shawn" last="Rucker"], 5-11, 175, Tallahassee Godby. This University of Tennessee commit is one of those talented young men who is a difference maker – and it doesn’t matter where you put him. Great cover skills, excellent tackler, cat quick, tremendous at reading the flow of plays and a true leader in the secondary. In addition to everything he does, he happens to be a jet as a kick and punt returner. Easily one of the best all-around prospects who brings it all to the table.
