Analysis: River Rouge finished the 2019 season as state champions after besting Muskegon in the Division 3 final. They return plenty of talent in 2020 and it all starts with senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="29594" first="Mareyohn" last="Hrabowski"] who is committed to play his college ball at Western Michigan. Junior receiver [player_tooltip player_id="30169" first="Jalen" last="Holly"] is their top skill position player, but the offense is strongest up front with seniors [player_tooltip player_id="29602" first="Jalen" last="Johnson"], Terray McCain, Tyler McMillan and [player_tooltip player_id="29613" first="Chance" last="Moore"] leading the way. On defense, senior [player_tooltip player_id="29572" first="Pius" last="Odjugo"] and junior [player_tooltip player_id="30139" first="Davonte" last="Miles"] anchor the front seven, but the secondary is loaded with talent. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id="29568" first="Armorion" last="Smith"] and [player_tooltip player_id="29592" first="Leroy" last="Watson Jr."] are household names, but sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="30320" first="Davon" last="Jackson"] might be the most talented of the three. The Panthers have the talent to once again return to Ford Field in the fall and I’m excited to see if senior players like [player_tooltip player_id="29903" first="Karvon" last="Stigall"], Tayshaun Massey-Johnson or Dejon Mayes emerge during their run at the state title.
