THE SCOOOP ON TAYLOR: Before this quality talent settled in to play for head coach Mike Manasco and the Panthers, he was at South Dade and Southridge first. Not to say that his talents were overlooked or that he learned about the game from his previous stops. But the fact remains is the prospect that he has become borders on amazing.
[caption id="attachment_31492" align="alignright" width="280"] Miami Palmetto DL Leonard Taylor is the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2021, heading into the 2020 season.[/caption]
This is a football player who has turned into someone who can dominate anyone, anywhere – and having these companies who do rankings or hand out stars – will in no way change our mind. Like all the football prospects in Florida, we see them all play FOOTBALL – and not see them in shorts and a t-shirt or judge them on the same game film that anyone can view.
His athleticism is amazing and simply off the charts. He is strong, physical and extremely confident in what he does on the football field.
As he shows during the course of a year, there are very few football players who bring to the table what he does – and he continues to show it, no matter what event he attends.
Colleges have been on him since early in his 10th grade year because he plays this game at a completely different level, and rating him any lower than No. 1 nationally, only points out to wanting to sell subscriptions in various parts of the country.
What he has done for the Panthers is make them one of the programs picked to head to the 8A state finals next December.

OTHER 2021 DL ON THE RISE
In addition Taylor, here are five more defensive linemen to keep an eye on:
Kenneth Brown, 6-2, 255, Orlando Edgewater: A member of the 7A state runner up Eagles, here is a very athletic football talent that is primed for a breakout season.
Floyd Dozier, 6-2, 280, Palmetto. One of the prospects that everyone will be watching this coming season. A strong and agile inside player who continues to cause havoc for offenses. Led one of the strongest 6A programs in Florida.
Jaydan Harris, 6-2, 250, Largo. One of the emerging stars in the class, this is a gifted talent that has a chance to be very special for the Packers in 2020.
Allan Haye, 6-1, 300, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna. This University of Miami commitment is truly one of those under-the-radar players that many have not had the chance to watch. Keep your eye on him this season as the Lions look for their fourth straight 3A state title.
Kesean Norris-Hayes, 6-0, 230, Miami Christopher Columbus. Was a major catalyst for the defending 8A state champs a year ago – and with some key losses up front – head coach Dave Dunn and the Explorers are looking for a lot in 2020.
