Master Commitment List: MN’s Signed to Missouri Valley Conference 2020

The Missouri Valley Football Conference, comprised of North Dakota State, South Dakota State, South Dakota, Northern Iowa, Illinois State, Southern Illinois, Indiana State, Youngstown State, Missouri State, and Western Illinois, has long been the home of countless Minnesota prep studs throughout the years. Traditionally, four of the conference’s strongest members: NDSU, SDSU, USD, & UNI, have been grounded on a foundation of MN preps - in particular the FCS powerhouse NDSU Bison. Not only do I enjoy the MVFC because the conference has some great football that can get you a shot at the NFL, but a big draw for me is the fact that a lot of these kids were under-recruited, over-looked, and play with a chip on their shoulder from not earning that coveted University of Minnesota offer. This year’s batch of signees is no different, as these preps were some of the best the state had to offer last season and made great decisions to sign to four of the conference’s strongest competitors. Let’s dive in and examine each signee and what they bring to the MVFC, the FCS, and their respective teams. Thanks for reading! North Dakota State University [player_tooltip player_id="3499" first="Seth" last="Anderson"] (Moorhead) OL/DL. 6'5, 280 lbs. Held offers from UNI, New Mexico State, Northern Illinois, Buffalo, Wyoming, Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota State. 3x All-District selection. Anderson is a strong kid (benches over 300 pounds & is in the 1,000 pound club) and Spuds Head Coach Kevin Fenney called him a "throwback" that can play on either side of the ball and cause a lot of destruction no matter what. It seems the NDSU coaches agree, as I do not believe that coaches have finalized which side of the line of scrimmage the Moorhead native will play on. He plays violently through the whistle every single play, and has light feet and has maintained his quickness and athleticism despite putting on a ton of weight in high school. As an Offensive Lineman - he's an incredible puller that gets out to the edge quick and absolutely makes you feel him when he hits you. As a Dlineman it was almost terrifying watching him destroy double-teams, and his quickness off the ball would make him a versatile NG, 3tech, or wider. He's a perfect example of a Minnesotan signed to the Bison, as he's versatile, athletic, big, and has sky-high potential. He'll be a great Bison whatever position he gets put at. Highlights Joseph Deyak (St. Thomas Academy) WR. 6'2, 190 lbs. Visited UND, University of Minnesota, NDSU, SDSU, UNI. Held offers from University of Northern Iowa and UMary but chose to accept a PWO to the Bison instead. In his senior year midseason Hudl tape you see a long, fast, and fluid athlete playing at both the WR and QB positions and flying by defenders from both spots. High school teams generally put their best athlete at QB, and STA was no exception with Deyak who made plays with his arm or his legs or his hands as needed for the MN 5A state finalist Cadets. He's a great PWO pick-up for the Bison and it looks like he has the speed to get some reps eventually. Midseason [player_tooltip player_id="2213" first="Hayden" last="Johnston"] (Albert Lea) OL. 6'1, 260 lbs. MN All-Star Game participant. Also held offers from Augustana University, Concordia-St. Paul, and Augsburg University. Visited UND, SDSU, Iowa State, Iowa, Minnesota, UMD, NDSU but accepted a PWO to the Bison. Big kid who played both ways for Albert Lea and got a lot of reps over his four year prep career. vs. Red Wing vs. Winona Demetrius "TK" Marshall (MPLS Southwest) RB. 5'11, 190 lbs. MN All-Star Game participant. All-State, All-Metro, All-District. Rushed for nearly 1,600 yards and 20 TDs as a senior. Also received UND, UNI, SDSU scholarship offers. The best player to ever come out of my alma mater Southwest, Marshall is a big 190 lber. with game-changing speed who can take it North to South or East to West and is physical at the point of contact while possessing a tool-belt of cuts, stiff-arms, and truck sticks to go around you or through you. I got to see him play against MPLS North last fall, and he was electric even against an illustrious Polar defense. Southwest's offense this year was basically to line up TK with two or three FBs and pitch it to the outside and watch him work, not a bad plan. I'm so stoked to have a Laker play their college ball as a Bison, and will be following his career more than intently. SENIOR SZN [player_tooltip player_id="2228" first="Mason" last="Miller"] (Ada Borup) OL. 6'6, 235 lbs. Big-kid who is an all around great athlete with a better frame to boot, Miller unfortunately did not have much updated film but he will be a great development project for the NDSU OL room and has a ton of room to grow. highlights [player_tooltip player_id="10967" first="Raja" last="Nelson"] (Lakeville North) WR. 5'8, 175 lbs. MN All-Star Game participant, StarTribune Metro Player of the Year, All-Metro, All-State. Totaled 4,674 yards in his career and 72 TDs. Head Coach called him the best player he's ever coached. Also held offers from UMD, Army West Point, UND. Lightning in a bottle, Nelson has one of the best career highlights to watch of the past decade, and was a legit threat to score as a QB, WR, or RB on any given play of the ball game. Has an unstoppable jump-cut that basically took Lakeville North to the 6A state semifinals. The fastest player on the field every game of the 2019 season. Will be an electric Bison wideout. Top-15 Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="1618" first="Nick" last="Radunz"] (Becker/North Dakota State College of Science) OL. NJCAA First Team All-American. All-MCAC First Team. 6'4, 275 lbs. Joins his brother Dillon - who has a very good chance of being drafted in the NFL Draft this spring - on the Bison OL and is a strong and punishing blocker in run blocking or pass pro and uses a low center of gravity, fast feet, and good hand placement to bully defenders. Started two years at NDSCS and has two years of eligibility remaining. Sophomore JUCO highlights [player_tooltip player_id="10974" first="Loshiaka" last="Roques"] (Wayzata) DE. 6'3, 215 lbs. All-Metro. Offers from UND, SDSU, USD, UNI, Wyoming. Posted 67 tackles, 18 TFLs, 10 sacks in 2019. Super explosive and fast pass-rusher who shot by a lot of OL before they knew what happened, Roques also has some impressively violent hands that he used to move blockers back at will. Absolutely destroys lead-blockers or RBs in pass-pro as well and has a ton of pop for 215 pounds. Anchored the best defense in the state of Minnesota last season and won a 6A state championship with Wayzata. He's going to be dangerous when he puts on weight. Senior regular season [player_tooltip player_id="3501" first="Trey" last="Steinbach"] (Marshall) DE. 6'3, 220 lbs. Visited UND, SDSU, Iowa, NDSU, USD, Kansas State. Offers from UNI, SMSU, Concordia-St. Paul, Northwest Missouri State, Augustana, Northeastern State, Wayne State before accepting a PWO to NDSU. Fast and relentless defender who isn't letting go once he gets his hands on you, was athletic enough to sub in as Marshall's TE and made it look easy. Senior Year Nathan Whiting (Rosemount) K. 5'11, 200 lbs. Accepted a PWO to NDSU. Was 6/6 on FGs in 2019. Made kicks from 42, 39, 37, 36, 33, and 27 yards. Recovered his own onside kick. 64.3 yard kickoff average. Senior Year Highlights South Dakota State University [player_tooltip player_id="10989" first="Rudy" last="Voss"] Jr. (Jackson County Central) QB. 6'3, 200 lbs. Voss told the dggolbe.com writer Doug Wolter that he had somewhere between 10-15 DII scholarship offers but turned them all down for the opportunity to accept a PWO at SDSU. Holds Jackson County Central passing records in completions, yards, and TDs. Selected to the MN All-Star Game. Also scored over 2,100 points in his basketball career and holds school records in assists and 3-pointers. Led JCC to state tournament berths in both basketball and football as a senior. Hard not to appreciate and get excited about his natural accuracy and athleticism at the QB position that allows him to move really well in the pocket and make accurate throws either on the move or in the pocket. Has a great chance to get some starting snaps as a Jackrabbit. First six games vs. Fairmont vs. Waseca vs. Martin County West [player_tooltip player_id="10985" first="Hunter" last="Dustman"] (St. Francis) K/P. 6'3, 210 lbs. 2018 All-Metro. Also held a South Dakota offer. Strong leg with the ability to handle punts, kickoffs, FGs, PATs, or anything else you need of him. Boomed a 60-yard punt as a junior. Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="10969" first="Randy" last="Keumogne"] (Tartan) DE. 6'3, 250 lbs. Also held an offer from UNI. Really high ceiling as he only started playing football in high school. Great frame that's lean and long for 250 pounds, violent tackler, with a super quick get off and good bend around the edge. Uses his hands well too. Will be a very exciting DE for SDSU. Senior Season University of South Dakota Zander Flucas (Mayer Lutheran) LB. 6'3, 220 lbs. Also held an Army West Point offer. Played a ton of RB for Mayer Lutheran and did not look fun to try and tackle one bit. Great size and athleticism will translate well to the LB position. University of Northern Iowa [player_tooltip player_id="10966" first="Isaiah" last="Green"] (St. Cloud Tech) DE. 6'2, 250 lbs. Won a 2020 state 3A wrestling championship at 220 pounds this past spring. Held offers from New Mexico State, MSU-Mankato, USD, and UNI. Strong, stout, DLineman who lays the wood he gets his pads on you, Green lined up all over the DL for Tech and made big plays for the Tigers when they needed it most all season. Ate up blockers and double teams with ease and is a heckuva athlete that understands leverage and hand placement with his impressive wrestling background. Great nab for the Panthers. Senior Season Highlights
