Continue ReadingEtowah was the most productive offense in Cherokee County a season ago and despite losing a few key pieces the Eagles should feel good about the talent returning on that side of the ball.
Etowah will be in a new region with a new head coach this year and will need to replace last year’s Cherokee County Offensive Player of the Year (Dalton Miller) at quarterback and Region 4-7A Offensive Player of the Year (Jackson Manns) at receiver. However, they may have the best pure athlete in the entire region returning on offense along with one of the best young kicking prospects in the country.
Add in one of the fastest players in the country (as verified by Zybeck Sports) and there will be plenty for defenses to prepare for when playing Etowah this season.
Brock Rechsteiner – WR/ATH – Class of 2021
I’d argue Rechstiener is one of the most under-recruited players in the state of Georgia.
A first-team All-County and All-Region selection in both football and basketball as a junior, Rechsteiner has the frame, pedigree and skills to contribute on the next level. On the gridiron he finished his junior season with 35 receptions for 667 yards (19.0 average) for eight touchdowns. He regularly outran defensive backs and outmuscled them for jump balls. His hands are well above average as was captured during Etowah’s playoff game at East Coweta. He measures out at 6’3” and over 200 pounds and could see some time at quarterback and safety this fall.
Rechstiener’s cousin (Bronson) was recently drafted as a running back by the Baltimore Ravens and his father is former professional wrestler Scott Steiner. Athletic genes gallop in the Rechsteiner family and this senior should see the ball as much as any offensive threat in the region.
Dalton Miller hits Brock Rechsteiner on the sideline for an 81-yard touchdown on Etowah’s opening possession. XP is good.

Remmington Adams – RB/Slot – Class of 2022
Adams took his first touch of the 2019 season 65 yards to the house and was one of the most explosive offensive weapons in Cherokee County last season. During the offseason, Adams attended the All-American Bowl National Combine where he recorded a 4.49 laser-timed 40-yard dash. It was the second-fastest time among 600 athletes from 44 states. Isaiah Bond (Buford 2022 DB) was the only other player from Georgia in the top 25.
Adams (5’8” and 162 pounds) finished his sophomore season with 41 carries for 212 yards and three touchdowns. He missed time due to concussion protocol and shared carries with two other backs in 2019 but should see plenty of opportunities this fall. Already an invitee to multiple national combines, a big year production-wise could help Adams secure more attention on the recruiting trail.
Blake Bohannon – WR – Class of 2021
The son of Kennesaw State head coach Brian Bohannon gave a few glimpses of his potential last fall as a junior. Blake Bohannon finished last season with 24 receptions for 245 (10.2 average) with three touchdowns. He earned honorable mention All-County honors but I’d expect a major jump in production and recruiting attention this season.
Bohannon has good size (6’1” and 180 pounds) and speed (4.6 40-yard dash) to go along with excellent hands on the outside. Don’t be surprised if teams are paying plenty of attention to Bohannon after a few games.

Carson Allen Carson Allen 5'10" | 165 lbs | K Etowah | 2023 GA – K/P – Class of 2023
As a freshman, Carson Allen Carson Allen 5'10" | 165 lbs | K Etowah | 2023 GA looked like an established varsity player.
He finished his season 5-for-8 on his field-goal attempts (30-for-32 on extra points) and this offseason the country’s best kicking evaluators tabbed him as one of the best kicking prospects in the class of 2023. Kohl’s Kicking has listed Allen as the No. 9 kicking prospect in his class. Jonathan Duncan Jonathan Duncan 5'11" | 165 lbs | K Franklin County | 2023 GA (Franklin County) is the only other Georgia prospect in the top 10.
Kohl’s rated Allen as a 4.5-star prospect (rare for a sophomore) and if Etowah’s offense continues to move the ball up and down the field, Allen should continue to have plenty of scoring opportunities.
Etowah freshman Carson Allen connects on the short field goal. Allen has been very impressive this season for a freshman.
