<span style="font-size: 18pt"><strong>Overview</strong></span>
One thing I know for sure is that college coaches will be stopping by Glenbard South this fall. The Raiders are loaded with talented prospects, including three players in our Prep Redzone positional rankings. Electrifying all-purpose back [player_tooltip player_id="20872" first="Trevor" last="Burnett"] returns for his junior season after a monster sophomore campaign. Senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="20325" first="Jeremy" last="Gelino"] has earned multiple FCS offers this off-season and will be the leader of their defense. Defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="20912" first="Connor" last="Murphy"] is a rising prospect with a great frame and ton of potential. Head coach Ryan Crissey has done a wonderful job and has made trips to the IHSA playoffs a regular occurrence. The Raiders look to bounce back after they got a tough round one draw last season, falling to 5A runner up St. Rita 49-14. However, GBS returns a ton of starters on both sides of the ball and will look to be contenders for the Upstate Eight Conference Title.

<strong>Top Storyline</strong>
Glenbard South has been a consistent playoff team, but can they take that next step & make a deep playoff run in 2020?

<strong>Thoughts</strong>
I believe this is head coach Ryan Crissey’s most talented team he’s had at Glenbard South. On paper, they have a very favorable schedule and could enter with much better playoff positioning than last fall. The matchup to watch for is week three against South Elgin. It should be an awesome running back battle between [player_tooltip player_id="20872" first="Trevor" last="Burnett"] of Glenbard South and [player_tooltip player_id="20245" first="Davion" last="Cherwin"] of South Elgin, two of the state’s premier backs. South Elgin is a very well-coached squad with a lot of returning talent themselves, and it should be a great test for the Raiders. I think Glenbard South will take that next step this fall and could be a sleeper team in Class 5A. This squad has Division one talent; they just have to put it all together and get better week by week throughout the season.
