<span style="font-weight: 400;">Ball-hawking safeties and physical cornerback islands are the main ingredients of a no-fly zone defense. Here is a list of incoming seniors who have raised their stock value by establishing themselves as defensive aces:</span>
<b>Jaden Kennis - Safety - Windsor 6’3” 180 </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The 6-foot-3 180 pounds free safety led all of 4A in interceptions with seven picks last season. In addition to his interceptions, he recorded nine pass breakups and one forced fumble. Kennis averaged 10 tackles per game with a total of 80, 33 of which were solo tackles.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="22560" first="Marcellus" last="Reed"] - Cornerback - Palmer Ridge 5’11” 165 </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Coming off of a 3A state championship season, Reed is a lockdown corner who recorded six interceptions and eight pass breakups. The 5-foot-11 165 pounds athlete finished the season with 25 solo tackles, 35 in total.</span>
<b>Oliver Mendoza - Cornerback - Hotchkiss</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Mendoza recorded six interceptions, tying for second-most in all of 1A. He averaged over 13 yards per interception and recorded nine pass breakups. Mendoza finished the season with 17 solo tackles, 35 in total.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="22530" first="Myles" last="Purchase"] - Cornerback - Cherry Creek </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Coming off of a 5A state title win, Purchase is considered one of the top defensive backs in the state. He finished the season with 10 pass breakups and four interceptions, all of which were returned for touchdowns. Purchase recorded 36 total tackles (21 solo) and has received multiple college offers.</span>
<b>Michael Bueno - Cornerback - Kennedy </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Bueno recorded 46 total tackles, 34 of which were solo, resulting in a 4.6 tackle per game average. The 5-foot-8 physical corner also recorded five interceptions and five pass breakups.</span>
