Continue ReadingA lot of recruits do not get the attention they deserve for various reasons. However, there is tons of offensive talent in the 2021 class that is going unnoticed in Charlotte, NC. These players have the ability to play at a Division 1 football program and make an impact on the field. Here are some of the most underrated offensive weapons in Charlotte from the class of 2021:
Jordan Bly, WR, 5’10 and 148 lbs, Myers Park HS
Bly is a speedy wide receiver that can make defenders miss in the open field with a quick juke move and elite acceleration. He has the ability to adjust his body to make the low and high catches while also being able to haul in the sideline passes. Bly can be used as an effective slot WR who can beat press coverage and find the voids against Zone Coverage. He has very good hands and is a deep threat on any play with his 4.4 speed. Bly’s dad was an NFL cornerback for 11 years and can provide him with valuable advice. Jordan has 11 offers so far that include Pitt, Towson, Charlotte, and FIU.
Coleman Jeffcoat, WR, 6’3 and 205 lbs, Mallard Creek HS
Jeffcoat is a big framed Wide Receiver that has the ability to win the 50/50 balls down the field. He is solid at gaining yards after the catch and has good speed for a player with his size. Jeffcoat can make receptions away from his body and has a quick release at the line of scrimmage. His two best qualities are making contested catches over the opposing defender and being an elite run blocker. Coleman currently has two offers from Charlotte and Temple, but I expect more to come in the future.
Elijah Metcalf, WR, 5’9 170, Mallard Creek HS
Metcalf is a shifty Wide Receiver that can break tackles using juke moves and his powerful strength. He possesses breakaway 4.4 speed that makes him a deep threat and showcases big play ability often. Metcalf is a smooth route runner that allows him to create separation from his opponents the majority of plays. He has strong hands and can control his body to make the sideline catches. Elijah has received 16 offers so far that include Army, Air Force, Akron, and Kent State.
Adreyan Kirkpatrick, WR, 5’11 165, Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology
Kirkpatrick is a quick Wide Receiver that has excellent hands, which allows him to make any type of catch. He consistently makes the contested receptions, sideline plays and is good at completing the catch while falling to the ground. His ability to track the ball is very impressive, along with his elite concentration skills. Adreyan also has 4.46 speed he uses on long routes and can break tackles against defenders. Kirkpatrick is not garnering the amount of interest he deserves because he plays for a lesser known school and has no offers right now.
Jake Snapp, RB, 5’8 170, Butler HS
Snapp is a powerful Running Back that can really do it all on the field. He has excellent vision on running plays and finds the opening for the majority of plays. He is also successful as a receiver and can be relied on during screen plays and routes out of the backfield. Jake is dangerous in the open field because of his great contact balance and strength to run through tackles. Snapp’s best quality is that he fights for extra yards on every play and doesn’t go down easily. He currently has two offers including one from UMASS.
