2020 Hidden Gems: Running Backs

As the 2020 season approaches, we wanted to take a look at some of the under the radar runners for 2020. Here are four very productive players, that may be under recruited heading into the 2020 season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="20371" first="Ronde" last="Worrels"] (Canton HS)-</strong> Good height and weight with a sturdy frame. Solid burst and first step quickness off the snap. A straight line runner who likes to hit the hole quickly. Solid vision to read and set up blocks. Good strength at the POA, and consistently runs through arm tackles. Very good leg drive on contact, and shows the ability to finish and fall forward. Possesses good speed to break big runs once into the second and third levels of the defense. He is a hard nosed football player with four seasons of varsity experience, who is a reliable ball carrier and has the potential to be a three down back. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="20357" first="Devin" last="Miles"] (Danville HS)-</strong> Good height and weight with solid frame. Good acceleration and burst off the snap. Very good vision and COD to set up and cut off blocks. Very good anticipation to see holes open or close, and possesses the acceleration/foot quickness to bounce around the edge. Very good agility once breaking LOS, consistently makes the first defender miss and has home run ability from anywhere on the field. He couples very good speed with his agility and COD to finish the big play, and hit holes quickly. He is a very good player who is going to be successful at the next level. <b>Hunter Gladson (Eureka HS)- </b>Good height and weight with sturdy frame. A multidimensional RB, who possesses the ability to not only be effective within the run and pass games, but also in pass pro. Good burst and acceleration to hit the hole quickly. A straight line runner, who runs behind pads and will finish runs with leg drive and upper body strength. Shows solid hands in the passing game, and has good catch to run transition. He maintains his physical running style in the openfield. Good pass pro ability, willing to throw body around. He shows a good initial punch and will move feet to stick. Overall, a solid football player who can contribute in multiple areas of the game. He isn’t going to be a big play threat in the run game, but is a consistent contributor in short yardage situations. <b>Bryson Boes (Maroa-Forsyth HS)-</b> Solid height and weight with solid frame. Good acceleration to hit the hole quickly couple with good lower leg strength to run through arm tackles. Once into the second and third levels, runs with good power and finishing ability. Also shows good agility to alter speeds and pick up blocks in the openfield. Solid speed, short yardage burst is most effective, but he possesses enough long speed to break the big play. Overall, a big bodied RB who likes to get downhill and use his size/power to wear down defenses. &nbsp;
