After helping the Lightning to a 3-5 record overall while competing in the Metro-South subdistrict, Suggs was kind enough to give Northstar Football News an interview about the 2019 season and his recruitment as a potential college athlete. He had to say the following:
Suggs Jr.: “I’m from St. Paul and I started playing tackle football in the 3rd grade. A fun fact about me is my cousin Terrell Suggs is in the NFL. The thing I like most about football is winning 1 on 1 matchup’s. My height is 5’10”, weight is 180, and I bench 230. My 40 time is 4.65 and last year I had 1,000 yards with 10 TD’s. Eastview last season got off to a slow start just like this year but we picked it up in the playoffs and I hope the same thing happens (in 2019). This past offseason went well and I put on some weight. The schools that have offered me are Wayne State and the U of M Crookston. I’m interested in the University of St. Thomas and other great D2 programs and I’ve been to the NDSU camp and won elite camper and also have been to the U of M camp. The recruiting process has not been going as well as I thought it would be considering my skill level. And I’m going to the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl in January.”
