Isaac Koop, Fullback, Becker
Koop is one of the smallest yet sturdiest fullbacks I have witnessed in high school football. Most look at 5’5 160 pounds as small build with elusive speed. Koop defines the word power back in a nutshell and his great power surprised me enough to put him on my offensive big dogs list from this week.
Eli Kuhn, Wide Receiver, Monticello
Although his Magic quarterback had a rough outing, Kuhn was one of the bright spots in this Magic offense. When the ball was within reach, Kuhn was checking it. To my tally, he racked up 3 catches for 34 yards at over 11+ per catch (more than a first down per catch). I didn’t have Kuhn on my radar from my program profile on Monticello from earlier, but he is now for sure.
Josh Fobbe, Quarterback, Becker
Fobbe I feel raised his recruiting stock after last night. My favorite thing about Fobbe was his ability to spread the ball around the field and not targeting just one receiver. He also displayed tremendous accuracy last night and a poise at the QB position. Don’t be surprised if schools at the FCS-D2 level start targeting this kid harder after tonight, as I think he’s setting up for a excellent year for at QB for the Bulldogs.

A player I heard about in my program preview of Monticello earlier this summer, Valor was the fastest guy on that Monticello team on offense and defense. Although he wasn’t able to break open huge gains, he had at one point 2 carries for 30 yards on back to back carries, which shows his stamina off well. It’s very clear to me why Coach Telecky stated Sam was something to watch this year, as I look forward to watching him flourish.

Hietala, one of Becker’s captains was the best player on the field tonight. 5 receptions, approx. 110 yards, and a touchdown are why he gets my biggest dog award. Every time Fobbe needed a deep target, Hietala was his man. This kid averaged over 20 yards per catch last night, what can he do for Becker for the rest of the season? We look forward to finding out!
