Osseo High School is coming off of a huge win last Friday night against conference rival Anoka High School that broke a long losing streak for the Orioles. After an exciting and anxiety-ridden four quarters, the Osseo players were obviously excited, and I was lucky enough to gain some insight on the game from some of the Orioles for Northstar Football News. These players were impactful throughout the game and all have the size and ability to play college football across the three divisions. Let's see what they had to say about their tremendous victory postgame, as well as what's going on with their college recruitment and the rest of the 2019 season.
Knowledge Johnson (DE. 6'2, 200) Recorded 2.5 sacks Friday night.
"We're about to celebrate man. We worked hard this offseason and we were waiting to get a chance like this. It's just another game up now. I'm proud of everyone we worked hard together, we were humbled together, and we stayed and fought together until the end...It definitely feels good to get that monkey off our back, we got that off today. I feel like everything is going to be smooth sailing from here, we stayed together, stuck together, and we're bonding now. Losing was a poison to the team and we got that out of the way and can move forward now."

"Film study definitely played a role (in the win). The day after our games we go in and watch the film and move on to the next team. After our tough loss to Farmington we got to the film and moved right on to Anoka, and that was all we were talking about. (Our gameplan) started really the first day of practice, especially getting off the edge. We knew their tackles were going to be slow, we knew how this team played, we did a bunch of film study and it just feels good to get this win under our belt.
Jake Hill (WR. 5'11, 170). Had two receiving TDs and a punt return for a TD that was called back.
"This was a big statement win and we just need to keep rolling off this. This is a special moment but we can't get too high off this and keep on going. We have a great senior class, great leaders here, everything feels different. The energy feels different, the culture feels different, and we have something special and have to keep on going.

"I feel like every time they kick the ball to me I need to do something special with it. I know what I can do with the ball, and after I got through those two dudes and got outside I knew I was gone...I'm getting some D1 looks right now. North Dakota is interested in me right now and hopefully this game gives me some more exposure and gives some other schools a look at me as well. We got Champlain Park next week and we're coming, we're hungry."
Michael McIntyre (DE/TE. 6'3, 230). Recorded two big sacks on the night at the end of the game in primetime.
"This all really started in the summer. We put in a lot of work and I put in a lot of work and I took what I had learned and try to share it with the other guys. Especially with guys going down early with injuries, we have had two lineman go down with ACL tears but we had to keep believing and keep working."

"I feel like if we keep the confidence up and don't get too high on ourselves we can really do this. When I watched them (Anoka) on film I saw that when I would be a down lineman I get off the ball way faster than them, so I just had to get back there and get to the quarterback. I just started talking to SDSU a little bit and I'm actually taking my first visit there tomorrow morning."
