<p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Former Gophers coach <strong>Tracy Claeys</strong> offered Mafe a scholarship after seeing him play against Eden Prairie in September, but since then a lot of chatter on the future of the No. 7 recruit in <u><strong><a href="http://www.northstarfootballnews.com/2017-rankings"><span style="color:#B22222">NFN's Class of 2017 rankings</span></a></strong></u> has gone quiet. He recently picked up a Rutgers offer which joined Minnesota as the other Power 5 conference school to offer him. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">The 220-pound linebacker confirmed last night he will announce his commitment before National Signing Day on February 1, but with the <strong><u><a href="http://www.northstarfootballnews.com/news_article/show/741912?referrer_id=877078"><span style="color:#B22222">coaching change at Minnesota</span></a></u></strong> it’s fair to say Mafe’s future plans are unknown. He has another FBS offer from Wyoming, as well as FCS offers from South Dakota State, North Dakota and Northern Iowa. </span></span></p>
