With three weeks until National Signing Day 2017, the Northstar Football News prospect rankings for the senior class have been revised for the final time. The latest update expanded the rankings by 135 players from October, making the final number of Class of 2017 players included close to 600.
The list is a product of first hand observation by NFN contributors after attending games, analyzing Hudl film and reviewing statistics from the last three seasons. Individual performances at various camps and combines around the country, which measure physical attributes and overall athleticism, are also considered.
The final component to our prospect rankings include input and evaluations from high school and college coaches around the upper Midwest as well as any postseason accolades earned by the student athletes.
The 2017 rankings are a projection of how we think players will perform at the collegiate level so size, strength, speed and athleticism play a role in the evaluation. Overall college recruiting interest and player commitments also factor into the finalized list.
