Expert Analysis
Cory Lemer | Prep Redzone Scout
Standing at 6’4″ 200 pounds, Pettitt has a solid build for the EDGE position. Adding around 5-10 pounds can help improve his frame.
Pettitt is an outstanding run stopper his aggressiveness is displayed on film and shown in the stats. He accumulated over 60 tackles in his Junior season. He displays a nice tool bag off moves such as a swim or rip and uses them to bend around tackles. He has a solid burst and a good first step which allow him to carve past defenders.
He is a dream defender for a DC with the ability to reach the backfield and swat passes. The Carthage star is one of my favorite prospects in Section Three.

Excellent edge defender in the run game that imposed 66 tackles this past year. The ability to stay balanced at the POA and then attack upon ball carriers with aggressiveness was evident. Even more, being quick, active, and running with a high motor around the bend of OT’s was a huge part of Pettit’s game. This is a pass rusher that will get violent with his hands and is not afraid to use them with pass rush moves such as swim and rip moves. Henceforth, being a highlight reel swatting down passes and racking up sacks is visible.
