Robert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Brinkman is a versatile dual-threat quarterback whose production on the ground shows his competitive edge. He led his team with 708 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, demonstrating toughness and the ability to finish drives in the redzone. Brinkman shows enough speed to pull away from second level defenders and extend plays outside the pocket. Through the air, he totaled 1,041 passing yards with seven touchdowns, though a 46 percent completion rate and 11 interceptions signal room for improvement. Refining his accuracy and decision making will be critical moving forward. Brinkman’s arm talent and athleticism provide a strong foundation as he works to put all parts of his game together.

Brinkman enters the rankings as a true dual-threat quarterback capable of gashing the defense with his arm or legs. He rushed for 708 yards and found the endzone 12 times, consistently keeping the defense guessing. As a passer, Brinkman threw for 1,041 yards and seven touchdowns, showing a willingness to attack downfield. Brinkman went 93/201 for 1041 yards, 46.3% completion rate with 7 TDs, 11 INT, 133 carries for 708 yards and 12 touchdowns. Brinkman has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, good change of direction, and balance. He thrives as a rusher. Very good vision to weave through the defense, or will put his shoulder down to get extra yards. Good throw power and release. Brinkman has very good scramble ability. If he sees an open gap, he’ll take it and rush for the first down. I’d like to see Brinkman grow more as a passer this off-season. He already has the rushing part down.

Brinkman is a physical, tough quarterback who thrives when the game speeds up. He’s thrown for 820 yards and seven touchdowns on 45% passing but has also shown a fearless mentality as a rusher, adding 567 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. Brinkman’s legs are his biggest weapon, allowing him to break containment and punish defenses that overcommit. Limiting turnovers will be key, as his eight interceptions have stalled drives at times this season. When Brinkman finds his rhythm as both a passer and a runner, he brings an unpredictable element that can shift momentum in his team’s favor.
