Tylik only had three carries, for 115 yards and a score, but left the game with a lower body injury in the first quarter. The Old Dominion commit had a long TD score on his first touch of the game. Mitchell only had 2 more carries and sat down the rest of the game.

We knew coming into the season that Mitchell would be one of the top running backs in the state and he’s lived up to that. He’s averaging over 13 yards a carry and is a touchdown waiting to happen from anywhere on the field. Southern Nash is 8-1 and if they’re going to make some noise in the postseason, it will be largely because of Mitchell.

It’s impossible to do any sort of running back check in artiicle without writing about Mitchell, who has been completely unstoppable this season. Mitchell is averaging over 200 rushing yards a game through five games and has made the opposition look silly. He’s rising up our board, and he should be doing the same for colleges in the area.

Mitchell flew up from our watch list last year all the way to just outside the top 50. Mitchell plays in a Wing T system as a wing back but plays much bigger than his size suggests. He excels at using his shiftiness to avoid clean contact and thus runs through a ton of half-hearted arm tackles. He can run a bit upright sometimes, but that’s easily correctable and something that shouldn’t hurt his college prospects.
