Monroe has exploded onto the scene this year and is perhaps the top rusher in the entire CCS heading through the midway point of the season. He is a balanced back that checks all the boxes from a running and receiving perspective and is a explosive runner in the open field with third level speed and looks for contact in the hole with patient vision and reads blocks well. He erupted for 200+ yards and 3 rushing scores on Friday night and was unstoppable through out the game. Look for Monroe to do more of the same as the season progresses and be well over the 1,000 yard rushing marker sooner rather than later.

Monroe turned heads as a freshman with his high-motor, high impact play on both sides of the ball. Whether lining up at RB or LB, he brings a physical edge and tough playing style to the field. On offense, he’s a downhill runner who is patient and has plus vision to find and attack open running lanes. He does a good job letting blocks develop but decisively accelerates through the hole when he finds a crease. He runs behind his pads, rarely goes down on first contact, and can break tackles with good leverage and leg drive. Defensively, he’s instinctive and quick to trigger when he diagnoses a play. Plays with good eye discipline to reads his keys, takes smart angles, and attacks contact with force. A true two-way difference maker who thrives in high contact situations and brings toughness, effort, and consistency every snap. Expect his stock to rise for this throwback style competitor.
